ANNAPOLIS, Md. –– The Navy men's tennis team (1-1) split its two matches on Saturday, losing 6-1 to 2019 NCAA Tournament qualifier Dartmouth (1-0) and posting a 5-2 victory over St. Bonaventure (1-1).
 
The three doubles matches between the Mids and the Big Green were close ones, with Dartmouth defeating Navy in each contest.  Derrick Thompson (So., Towson, Md.) and Andrew Ton (Jr., Milpitas, Calif.) lost, 7-5, to Charlie Broom and David Horneffer, the 28^th-ranked team in the country, at No. 1 doubles.  Jack Dabek (So., Dublin, Ohio) and Greg Durham (Sr., Melbourne Beach, Fla.) dropped a 6-3 decision to Peter Conklin and Casey Ross at No. 2 doubles.  Jake Fishkin (So., Baltimore, Md.) and Reilly Wilson (Fr., Greensboro, N.C.) lost in a tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles to Anders Gibbons and Dan Martin.
 
Navy's lone singles win came at the No. 5 flight where Dabek defeated Gibbons, 6-4, 6-4.
 
In the match between the Mids and the Bonnies, Navy lost a combined four games in winning the three doubles flights.  Navy players then won four singles matches in straight sets to tally the victory.
 
Winning a pair of matches during the dual were Gavin Segraves (Fr., Charlottesville, Va.), Christian Pumpelly (Fr., Atlanta, Ga.) and Matthew Lee (Sr., San Diego, Calif.). 
 
Navy will split its squad again next week for matches Friday at Penn and at home against Mount St. Mary's.
