ANNAPOLIS, Md. –– Ten different members of the Navy men's tennis team (2-2) won at least one match in the squad's 7-0 victory over Mount St. Mary's (0-1) Friday evening at the Tose Family Tennis Center in Annapolis.  Additionally, Navy dropped a 7-0 decision at Penn (1-1) Friday afternoon in Philadelphia.
 
Winning a pair of matches against the Mountaineers were Greg Durham (Sr., Melbourne Beach, Fla.), Finn Garner (Fr., Arnold, Md.) and Reilly Wilson (Fr., Greensboro, N.C.).  Durham teamed with Jan Kjellberg (So., White Plains, N.Y.) for a win at No. 1 doubles and posted a 7-6 (7-1), 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles.  Garner and Wilson did not drop a game in winning their No. 2 doubles match before Garner won, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 2 singles and Wilson recorded a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles.

In the match against Penn, the Navy tandem of Derrick Thompson (So., Towson, Md.) and Andrew Ton (Jr., Milpitas, Calif.) posted a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles.  The Mids nearly won the doubles point from the Quakers as the No. 3 match was decided by the score of 7-5.  Navy's Jack Dabek (So., Dublin, Ohio) and Peter Lohrbach (Jr., Little Neck, N.Y.) were on the short end of the final score in that match.
 
The Nos. 1 and 2 singles matches were decided in an abbreviated third set due to the overall match being determined before those matches finished.  Ton lost at No. 1 singles, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 1-0 (11-9), to Kevin Zhu, the 88^th ranked singles player in the country.  Thompson would lose at the No. 2 flight, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-8), to Jason Hildebrandt.
 
Navy will play four matches next weekend, two on Friday and two on Saturday.  Friday's slate has the Mids playing at East Carolina and at home against St. Francis Brooklyn, with Saturday's schedule featuring Navy playing host to Saint Joseph's and facing Winthrop back on the ECU courts.
