Tipping Off
• Navy and American will meet for the second time in two weeks Wednesday in Washington, D.C.  The Mids saw their brief two-game winning streak in the series come to an end with a 62-54 loss to the Eagles on Feb. 5 in Annapolis.
 
• Navy trailed by the score of 16-4, but closed to within two points at halftime and took a 35-31 lead early in the second half.  American answered with an 8-0 run, but the Mids eventually regained a 49-44 lead with just under six minutes remaining.
 
• The Eagles went on a 10-3 run to take a 54-51 lead, then stretched the margin out to 60-52.
 
• Navy was just 1-11 from three-point range in the second half and shot only 30.8 percent from the field after halftime.  Conversely, American was 5-12 from long range in the final 20 minutes of play and made 50 percent of its overall shots during that span.
 
• Navy has defeated American in three of its last four visits to Bender Arena.
 
• The Mids had posted an 8-6 record against the Eagles during the regular season when the teams were fellow members of the ECAC South / Colonial Athletic Association (1984-85 through 1990-91).
