BALTIMORE, Md. – Navy women's lacrosse attacker
Kelly Larkin (Alexandria, Va.) was named Honorable Mention All-American by Inside Lacrosse, as announced on Tuesday morning. With the honor, Larkin becomes a four-time All-American according to Inside Lacrosse.
As a sophomore and junior, Larkin was named Second Team All-American by the publication, while earning honorable mention honors as a freshman. In addition, Larkin was named the 2017 IL Division I Rookie of the Year.
As a senior, Larkin led the team in points, goals, and assists in a shortened season. She tallied 30 points on 14 goals, and 16 assists in six games. The attacker tallied a team-best 17 points on eight goals and nine assists in four games against ranked opponents.
Larkin finished her Navy career as the school and Patriot League record holder in points and assists, while ranking fourth in school history in goals scored. The senior tallied 376 total points on 199 goals and 177 assists. The Alexandria, Va. native ranked first in the Navy record books in assists per game (2.56 per game), while ranking second with 5.22 points per game and 2.76 goals per game. Larkin played and started in all 72 games in her career and was on pace to break the school record in both categories.
Nationally, the Tewaaraton Award Nominee was on pace to become the fourth player in NCAA history to score 400 or more points, while also becoming the third player in the NCAA record books with 200 or more assists. When the season was cut short, Larkin was on pace to score 100 points on the year, which would have made her the first player in NCAA history to record four 100-point seasons.
