ANNAPOLIS, Md. –– The Navy men's tennis team successfully opened its series of matches over spring break by recording a pair of victories Saturday at the Tose Family Tennis Center in Annapolis. "We put together fast starts in both matches with our doubles play," said Navy head coach
Chris Garner. "That momentum was carried over into singles."
Navy began the day by winning the doubles point against Temple.
Finn Garner (Fr., Arnold, Md.) and
Gavin Segraves (Fr., Charlottesville, Va.) lost just one game in winning at the No. 3 flight, then Navy's No. 1 duo of
Derrick Thompson (So., Towson, Md.) and

Thompson quickly made the score 2-0 as he lost just one game (in the second set) at No. 2 singles.
Matthew Lee (Sr., San Diego, Calif.) followed with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the No. 6 flight. Temple's Juan Araoz posted a 6-0, 6-3 win over
Greg Durham (Sr., Melbourne Beach, Fla.) to cut into the margin (3-1), but Segraves posted a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles to close out play.
"Matthew, Derrick and Gavin winning in straight sets was impressive," said Garner, "due to the quality of their respective opponents."
Navy won the doubles point for the 15

Andres Ballesteros (Fr., West Hartford, Conn.) and
Conners O'Brien (So., Rensselaer, N.Y.) tallied a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles, then
