| Box Score 3 SAN DIEGO, Calif. –– Jack Dabek (Sr., Dublin, Ohio) and Gavin Segraves (Jr., Charlottesville, Va.) each posted 5-1 records to lead the Navy men's tennis team at the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic that was held this weekend at the University of San Diego.

The event featured round robin play between players from Navy, San Diego, UC San Diego and San Diego State.  The Mids as a whole posted a 13-5 record –– 8-4 in singles, 5-1 in doubles –– during the inaugural edition of the tournament.

Dabek posted a 2-1 record in singles over the course of the three-day event.  He started the weekend by losing a 6-2, 6-0 decision to Roni Rikkonen of San Diego State, but went on to record a three-set victory (6-4, 4-6, 6-3) over San Diego's Nikhil Niranjan and a 6-1, 6-3 win over Eric Silverman from UC San Diego.

Additionally, Dabek and Finn Garner (Jr., Arnold, Md.) teamed up to win all three of their doubles matches.

Segraves did not drop a set in winning his three singles matches over Jules Auffray from San Diego State (6-4, 6-4), Blake Kasday from San Diego (7-5, 7-5) and  Sanjith Devineni from UCSD (6-2, 6-3).

Segraves also partnered with Derrick Thompson (Sr., Towson, Md.) to post a 2-1 record as a doubles team.

Navy will close its fall season this weekend when the Mids play host to Monmouth, Morgan State, Princeton, Columbia and Delaware in the Navy Gold Invite Friday through Sunday.  Play will be contested both on The Yard and at the Brigade Sports Complex.
