ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) announced its 2021 postseason list of All-League honorees. The Navy sprint football team had 15 different players earn 16 All-CSFL accolades, with
Adam Weissenfels (Richland, Wash.) being named the CSFL Defensive Player of the Year. The Midshipmen tallied seven First Team All-CSFL honors with five players being named to the second team.
All nine teams in the CSFL were represented on the All-CSFL squad. The All-CSFL team was selected by the head coaches in the league and is split into first team, second team and honorable mention recognitions.

Weissenfels, who was also named 2021 First Team All-CSFL as a defensive back and a punt returner, was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Year. The senior tallied 25 tackles, including 17 solo stops. He led the team with four interceptions, returning the picks for a combined 84 yards (21.0 yards per interception) with a long of 39 yards. In addition, Weissenfels added three pass break ups, forced a fumble, and registered 2.0 tackles for loss.

On offensive, team captain and running back
Matthew McGee (Port Charlotte, Fla.), wide receiver
Andrew Margiotta (Vienna, Va.), offensive lineman
Shane Fagan (Milford, Pa.), and place kicker
Mychal Golden (Jonesboro, Ark.) joined Weissenfels (punt returner) on the first team, while defensive lineman
Devyn Martin (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Weissenfels (defensive back) were first-team representatives on defense.

Running back
Alex Totta (Kansas City, Kan.), tight end
Jake Smith (Union, Ky.), offensive lineman
Ryan Kenneally (Elmhurst, Ill.), defensive lineman
Ed Shead (South Hampton, Pa.), and
Mike Garnett (Dallas, Texas) were all selected to the second team.

In addition, offensive lineman
Patrick Palm (Landenberg, Pa.), defensive lineman
Jake Karczewski (Chicago, Ill.), defensive lineman
Jordan Richard (Marietta, Ga.), and linebacker
Jack Costigan (Middletown, N.J.) earned honorable mention accolades.
Navy completed its undefeated season with a the win over Army to claim the 2021 CSFL Championship. The win gave Navy its 38th conference championship and 31st outright title. It was the first CSFL Championship for the Midshipmen since 2018 when Navy defeated Army, 24-10. The Mids closed out the season a perfect 8-0, including a 3-0 mark in the South Division. It is the 26th time that Navy has gone unbeaten during the season, and the first time since 2014.
The victory was the second of the season for the Midshipmen against the Black Knights, as Navy posted a 14-6 win in West Point to earn the 2021 Star in October.
