Five Starting Notes
1 – Navy and George Mason are meeting for the third time in four seasons.  The Patriots defeated the Mids 84-63 in 2018-19 and 68-55 in overtime in 2019-20.
2 – Prior to that 2018-19 meeting, the teams had not faced each other since each was part of the Colonial Athletic Association in 1990-91. 
3 – Navy enters the game having posted a 21-5 record since the start of the 2020-21 season.
4 – The Mids are ranked ninth nationally in scoring defense through games of Dec. 5.  Foes are averaging 55.9 points per game against Navy this season.
5 – John Carter Jr. has moved into ninth place at Navy for the most three-point field goals made in a career.  With 147 career triples, he needs to make two more to move into seventh place.

Series History
•    George Mason holds a 16-9 record leads the all-time series with Navy.  This includes a 9-3 edge in games played in Fairfax.
•    The Patriots have won each of the last 11 games in the series and have won each of the last six games that were played in Fairfax.  Navy's last win was Feb. 9, 1987, and the last time the Mids won in Fairfax was Jan. 12, 1987.
•    Tuesday's game will be the third meeting in a four-year span between the teams.  Prior to the Dec. 21, 2018 game between the teams, Navy and George Mason had not met for 27 years (March 3, 1991).
•    The game renews a series from when the teams were each members of the ECAC South Conference / Colonial Athletic Association for a decade (1982-91).
•    George Mason held a 13-7 edge in games played when the teams were members of the same affiliation.  This includes a 12-6 advantage in regular season games and a 7-3 advantage in games played in Fairfax.
•    Navy's last game as a member of the CAA was a 93-86 overtime loss to George Mason in the semifinal round of the 1991 conference tournament.
