WASHINGTON, D.C. – The initial Tewaaraton Award Watch List was announced on Thursday afternoon and Navy women's lacrosse's
Nicole Victory (Issaquah, Wash.) was named to the list. The lists include the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse and highlight the early contenders for the Tewaaraton Award.
This is the first season that Victory has been named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List and the fourth consecutive year for Navy with at least one student-athlete on the watch list (
Jenna Collins – 2018;
Kelly Larkin – 2018, '19, '20). Victory is the fifth Midshipmen to be selected to the Tewaaraton Watch List, joining Erin Rawlick (2010), Jasmine DePompeo (2012, '13), Collins (2018), and Larkin (2018, '19, '20).
Victory leads the Navy women's lacrosse team in points, goals scored, and assists this season. In three games in 2021, she has 10 goals, including a game-winning goal, and three assists for 13 total points with a pair of hat tricks to her credit.
For her career, the senior attacker has scored 60 goals with 48 assists for 108 total points. Victory has registered seven hat tricks, while scoring three game-winning goals. In addition, she has 22 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers, and one draw control in her career.
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.
As the schedules of most teams remain subject to state and school-specific COVID protocols, the selection committees proceeded on the assumption that all eligible and enrolled student-athletes will have some opportunity to compete this season.
Players not named to this initial list will have opportunities to play their way into a spot as the season progresses. Watch list additions will be announced on April 2, before the field will be narrowed to 25 men's and 25 women's nominees on April 23. Nominees can be players from the watch lists or not from the watch lists, effectively allowing for a second round of additions.
Five men's and five women's finalists will be announced in early May. The Tewaaraton Award recipients will be chosen after the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season.

About the Tewaaraton Foundation
Founded at the University Club of Washington, DC and first presented in 2001, the Tewaaraton Award is recognized as the preeminent lacrosse award, annually honoring the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. Endorsed by the Mohawk Nation Council of Elders and U.S. Lacrosse, the Tewaaraton Award symbolizes lacrosse's centuries-old roots in Native American heritage. The Tewaaraton Foundation ensures the integrity and advances the mission of this award. Each year, the Tewaaraton Award celebrates one of the six tribal nations of the Iroquois Confederacy – the Mohawk, Cayuga, Oneida, Onondaga, Seneca and Tuscarora – and presents two scholarships to students of Native American descent.
