BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced its weekly award winners for women's lacrosse on Monday afternoon and Navy's Lauren Herrington (Round Rock, Texas) and Lindsay Beardmore (Annapolis, Md.) earned recognition. Herrington was named Defensive Player of the Week, while Beardmore claimed Rookie of the Week distinction.
 
Herrington anchored the Navy defense in a pair of games on the week, helping Navy to a pair of victories over George Mason (W, 18-9) and Colgate (W, 12-5). She tallied a team-high eight ground balls and a team-best five caused turnovers, as the Navy defense held both opponents to single-digit goals. Herrington opened the week with three ground balls and two caused turnovers on the road against George Mason. Three days later, the senior led the team with three caused turnovers and five ground balls against Colgate on Senior Day.
 
Beardmore finished the week with eight points on four goals and a team-high four assists, while adding a pair of caused turnovers and a ground ball. The freshman made her first collegiate appearance with a start on the road against George Mason. In her first collegiate action, she tallied five points on two goals and a team-high three assists with one of her goals proving to be the game winner. Beardmore earned the start at home against Colgate, making her first appearance in Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. She finished with two goals and an assist for three points against the Raiders, while adding a ground ball and a caused turnover.
 
Navy hits the road next week for a Patriot League South Division game against American on Saturday in Washington, D.C. Opening draw is slated for 12:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and live stats will be available.
