BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Recognized for its success on the water last Friday with a league-high seven All-Patriot League honorees, the success of the Navy women's rowing team in the classroom was recognized on Tuesday with two players earning spots on the Academic All-Patriot League Team. Hanna Prince's selection as the 2021 Patriot League Women's Rowing Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Navy also had sophomore
Millie Oldham garner a spot on the exclusive 11-person team. Navy's two nods were the second-most in the league.
A member of the 2021 All-Patriot League Second Team for her efforts from the fourth seat in the victorious first varsity eight boat, Prince is a cyber operations major with a 3.94 GPA through six semesters at the Naval Academy. This abridged 2021 season was the first for the Buffalo, N.Y. native in Navy's top crew as she raced with the Mids in competitions versus Northeastern, George Washington and Virginia in the regular season before helping the Mids' V8 win Patriot League Boat of the Year honors on May 14 after they placed first in the field at the conference championship. Prince's success in the classroom has resulted in her earning five nods on the Naval Academy's Dant's List, as well as accolades on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2019 and 2020, and from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association as a CRCA National Scholar-Athlete in 2020.
Oldham joins her fellow first varsity eight crew mate Prince on the Academic All-Patriot League Team following her recognition last week on the 2021 All-Patriot League First Team. Making her collegiate racing debut this spring after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2019 season, Oldham was a key component of the Mids' success in V8 racing as she rowed from the third seat during regular and postseason competition. A chemistry major, she has been named to the Dant's List in each of her first four semesters and was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2020. The Nashville, Tenn. native currently stands top-10 within the Naval Academy's Class of 2023 in Military Order of Merit.
