Men’s Soccer Announces 2021 Schedule

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy men's soccer program released its 2021 schedule Wednesday. The Mids 17-game schedule, nine being home matches, includes nine Patriot League contests and eight non-conference matches.

"We are excited to announce our 2021 schedule," remarked head coach Tim O'Donohue. "We are ready for a full slate of games and our team is eager to compete. We have a good mix of returners and newcomers."

Following a trio of exhibition games against Virginia (Aug. 14), James Madison (Aug. 17) and Drexel (Aug. 21), Navy opens its 2021 season on the road against UMBC (Aug. 26) before embarking on a three-game homestand against Marist (Aug. 29), Iona (Sept. 3) and La Salle (Sept. 5). The Mids season-opening, six-game non-conference slate concludes with a road trip to George Washington (Sept. 10) and a home match against Longwood (Sept. 14).

Navy then hits the road to open a six-game Patriot League set at Boston University (Sept. 18) before traveling to take on Colgate (Sept. 25) then returning home once again for a pair of home contests against Lafayette (Sept. 29) and Holy Cross (Oct. 2).

The Mids continue the six-game conference set as the Army-Navy Cup (Oct. 9) returns to Subaru Park in Chester, Pa. Army took last season's contest, 2-0, over the Midshipmen, however in 87 contests all-time against the Black Knights, the Mids have a 40-31-16 record.

Following its match against Army, Navy returns to action with a road match against Loyola (Oct. 16) before welcoming Mount St. Mary's (Oct. 20) for a non-conference contest. The Midshipmen complete a brief two-game homestand with a Patriot League contest against Lehigh (Oct. 23).

Navy rounds out its 2021 regular-season schedule beginning with a non-conference matchup against Saint Joseph's (Oct. 26) before embarking on back-to-back Patriot League contests at home against Bucknell (Oct. 30) and on the road at American (Nov. 3).

The Midshipmen finished the 2020-21 campaign with a 4-2-1 record, marking the program's second-consecutive winning season after tallying 12 wins in 2019.
