ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy sprint football team (1-0, 0-0 CSFL South) is set to host Chestnut Hill (1-0, 1-0 CSFL South) at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in a Collegiate Sprint Football League South Division game on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. The game will be the home and division opener for the Midshipmen.

Navy enters the game 1-0 on the heels of a 55-7 victory on the road at St. Thomas Aquinas to open the season, while Chestnut Hill also posted an opening weekend win against Alderson Broaddus (W, 28-7) at home.
All-Time Series
Navy holds the all-time series record, 4-0, over Chestnut Hill. The Midshipmen opened the series with a 43-0 victory over the Griffins in 2016 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The following season, the Mids started the 2017 season in Conshohocken, Pa., picking up a 27-17 victory. Navy once again posted a shutout, earning a 31-0 victory in Annapolis in 2018, while notching a 28-12 win in 2019. The two teams did not compete against one another in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Mask Protocols at NMCM Stadium
All fans who are not fully vaccinated and are unable to maintain appropriate social distancing (6 feet) are required to wear a mask covering their mouth and nose at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Fans who are fully vaccinated and prefer to not wear a mask may do so.
Masks are required, regardless of vaccination status, in all indoor spaces at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium which includes restrooms, elevators, the indoor section of the club level in Akerson Tower, inside suites and the press box.
All game day staff at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium will be required to wear proper personal protection equipment to protect our guests, the two teams and other staff members. All game day staff will be required to complete a pre-event health screening questionnaire and temperature screening prior to entering the stadium.
A deep cleaning and sanitization of Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium will be conducted before and after every event. Additionally, throughout the game there will be a concentration of cleaning in all high touch point areas throughout the stadium.
Anyone with Covid-19, Covid-19 symptoms or has been exposed to Covid-19 should not come to the stadium.
These policies will be evaluated and some or all could be modified as conditions improve both locally and nationally.
Last Time Out: Navy at St. Thomas Aquinas (Sept. 18, 2021)
Navy posted a 55-7 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas at the Torne Valley Sports Complex in Hillburn, N.Y. The Midshipmen scored early and often, while using solid defense to come away with the dominating road win.
Offensively, the Midshipmen tallied 549 total yards of offense, including 221 rushing yards and 328 yards through the air.
Brandon Atwood (Gentry, Ark.) earned the start at quarterback, finishing the game 19-for-27 for 313 yards with four touchdowns and an interception. Atwood gave way to
William Leong (Irvine, Calif.), who went 2-for-2 for 15 yards and a score.
Andrew Margiotta (Vienna, Va.) led the receiving corps with five receptions for 164 yards and a pair of scores.
Jake Smith (Union, Ky.) also finished with five receptions for 92 total yards and a TD.
Alex Totta (Kansas City, Kan.) and
Marco Pezzini (Salinas, Calif.) each added touchdown receptions on the afternoon.
On the ground, team captain
Matthew McGee (Port Charlotte, Fla.) led the way with 97 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown.
Stephen Copeland (Ava, Mo.) made the most of his two carries, finishing with 46 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Navy held the STAC offensive attack to 133 total yards, including just 22 rushing yards. The defense picked off a pair of passes and recovered a fumble.
Adam Weissenfels (Richland, Wash.) picked off a Spartan pass, returning it for a team-high 29 yards.
Kicker
Mychal Golden (Jonesboro, Ark.) converted two field goals, while also chipping in seven PATs for 13 points on the day.

The Navy sprint football team earned its first Collegiate Sprint Football League South Division game, posting a 28-12 victory over Chestnut Hill at A.A. Garthwaite Stadium (Conshohocken Field "A") in Conshohocken, Pa.
Offensively, Navy was led by quarterback
Braydan Chmiel ('21). He finished the game 6-of-17 for 124 yards and two touchdown passes. Chmiel also tallied 110 yards on the ground on 15 attempts with a score.
Eric Spicer ('21) pulled in a pair of receptions for 73 yards, including a 67-yard touchdown catch to lead the Mids. Walt Fagan ('20) made one reception, but made it count, pulling down an eight-yard TD catch.
Defensively, the Midshipmen were led by David Postma ('20) who finished with 12 total tackles. He was joined by
Adam Weissenfels (Richland, Wash.) and Nav Seguy ('21) who registered seven stops apiece.
Kicker Jared Swenson ('20) was perfect in PATs on the night, going 4-for-4 for four points in the game.
