ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy swimming and diving teams combined for 18 outright event victories to post a pair of wins over George Washington, Friday evening at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis. The men's meet saw the Mids (3-0) record a 153.5-130.5 win over the Colonials (1-2), and Navy (2-1) defeated George Washington (2-3), 1557-143, in the women's dual.
Leading all competitors in wins on the day was
Jackson Schultz (Sr., Millersville, Md.) with victories in the 100 breast (54.74), 200 breast (1:59.83) and 200 IM (1:50.35) events.
Everet Andrew (So., Wilmette, Ill.) and
Austin Lockhart (So., Fort Mills, S.C.) joined Schultz with multiple event victories during the meet. Andrew won the 1000 (9:22.21) and 500 free (4:34.08) races and Lockhart took both sprint free events (20.75, 45.78).
Hannah Pratt (Jr., Fishers, Ind.) and
Lauren Walsh (Fr., Shelton, Conn.) each won two events for the Navy women's team. Pratt touched the wall first in the 200 (1:52.52) and 100 free (52.06) races and Walsh was the medalist in the 100 breast (1:04.24) and 200 IM (2:03.88) contests.
Conor Cranfield (So., Fort Myers, Fla.) also won the 200 free for the Mids and teammate
Blakeman Shaw (So., Coral Gables, Fla.) tied for first place in the three-meter diving event.
The remaining individual event wins for the Navy women's team came from
Catherine Weaverling (So., Glen Mills, Pa.), 100 back;
Abbie Sullivan (Jr., Haverhill, Mass.), 200 fly;
Katie Corbi (Sr., Waxhaw, N.C.), 50 free; and
Libby Miller (Sr., Gates Mills, Ohio), 200 breast.
Navy also combined for four relay event wins on the day.
Navy will be back in Lejeune Hall Saturday for an 11 a.m. meet against UMBC.
