Pair of Track and Field Athletes Claim Weekly Awards
The Patriot League officially announced its weekly Track and Field accolades and Navy's David Nelsen (Chandler, Ariz.) and Walker Rudisaile (Marion, Texas) were named to the list. Nelsen claimed Track Athlete of the Week, while Rudisaile was tabbed Field Athlete of the Week.

Nelsen broke the Navy school record in the 1-mile run, becoming the second runner in program history to run a sub-4-minute mile. Nelsen, and a small group of Navy distance runners went to the 2022 BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational and the senior clocked a 3:59.52 to break the program record. He joined former distance runner Jake Brophy ('20) as the only Midshipmen to ever run a sub-4-minute mile. Brophy crossed the finish line with a then-school record time of 3:59.98 at BU as a senior in 2020. Nelsen's time is the 68th fastest in the NCAA this season and tops among Patriot League competitors.

Rudisaile posted a third-place finish (of 33 competitors) in the pole vault at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational over the weekend at Liberty University. The sophomore posted a school-record height of 5.26m (17-03.00) to claim bronze in the event – tops among collegiate athletes. The height, which was an IC4A qualifying mark, is the 28th best in the NCAA this season and tops among the Patriot League.
