ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy sprint football team opens the 2022 season on the road as the Midshipmen travel to A.A. Garthwaite Stadium in Conshohocken, Pa. to take on Chestnut Hill. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16 and live video will be available.

Major Alfonso Meidus, USMC announced that seniors
Jordan Richard (Marietta, Ga.) and
Alex Totta (Kansas City, Kan.) will be team captains for the 2022 campaign. Richard will serve as the defensive captain, while Totta will captain the offense.
All-Time Series
The game between Chestnut Hill and Navy will mark the sixth meeting between the two teams. The Midshipmen hold a 5-0 all-time record against the Griffins. Navy has shut out Chestnut Hill three times in the series, including a 52-0 victory against the Griffins last season.
2021 Season in Review
Navy completed its undefeated season with a win over Army (W, 9-7) to claim the 2021 Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) Championship. The win gave Navy its 38th conference championship and 31st outright title. It was the first CSFL Championship for the Midshipmen since 2018 when Navy defeated Army, 24-10. The Mids closed out the season a perfect 8-0, including a 3-0 mark in the South Division. It is the 26th time that Navy has gone unbeaten during the season, and the first time since 2014.
Navy had 15 different players earn 16 All-CSFL accolades with
Adam Weissenfels ('22) being named the CSFL Defensive Player of the Year. In addition, Weissenfels was the 2021 Most Valuable Player. The MVP was chosen by a vote from the league coaches, who selected from the conference major award winners.
The Midshipmen had six players tally seven First Team All-CSFL honors, while five players being named to the second team. In addition, four Midshipmen earned honorable mention accolades.
