John Dutton and senior
Mychal Golden were each recognized for their performances in the Mids' 58-6 road win over Cornell. Dutton was tabbed Rookie of the Week, while Golden was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
Dutton is a member of the Navy offensive line that helped the Midshipmen score seven touchdowns, including six rushing scores. The Midshipmen finished the game with 423 total yards, including 325 on the ground. The offensive line limited the Big Red to just four tackles for loss (one sack) for just 16 yards in 61 total offensive plays. Thanks to Dutton and the offensive line, Navy recorded five plays of 20 or more yards in the game, including rushes of 24, 29, and 52 yards and passes of 28 yards and a 41-yard touchdown pass. Additionally, the Mids had no turnovers in the game.
Golden registered 10 points in Navy's road victory over Cornell on Friday night. He connected on seven PATs, while adding a field goal. The senior placekicker converted a career-long 52-yard field goal, topping his previous best, which he set as a sophomore, by seven yards. Additionally, Golden added 10 kickoffs for 573 total yards (57.3 yards per kick).
