Navy leads the annual Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA this season 9-7 (56.3) with Star wins in sprint football, men's and women's cross country, men's swimming and diving, rifle, men's and women's indoor track and field, gymnastics and men's basketball. There are eight remaining Star events - wrestling (2/19), men's (4/15) and women's (4/1) tennis, men's (4/1) and women's (4/1) outdoor track & field, men's (4/22) and women's (4/22) lacrosse and baseball (4/22-23).

Navy Notes
• Navy enters Sunday's contest with a 4-6 overall record and a 3-1 EIWA record. The Mids have defeated Kent State (27-21), Hofstra (21-12), Binghamton (19-18) and Bucknell (25-9) for their four wins.
• Navy's dual versus Bucknell was the first time head coach Cary Kolat used a lineup that he had previously used in a dual this season. Josh Koderhandt (141-pounds) and Sammy Starr (174-pounds) are the only two wrestlers to compete in all 10 duals this season.
• The second coaches' rankings and first RPI rankings of the season were released on Feb. 9.
• The coaches' rankings are determined by a vote of 14 coaches in each weight class with two head coaches from each of the seven conferences. For ranking purposes, coaches may only consider a wrestler that has been designated as a starter at a respective weight class. Wrestlers must have eight Division I matches in the weight class to be considered with at least one within the last 30 days.
• Five Mids were recognized in the second coaches' rankings, led by Grady Griess (285-pounds) at 20th amongst the nation's heavyweights.
• The RPI is a calculation that consists of three factors: winning percentage, opponent winning percentage (strength of schedule) and opponent's opponent winning percentage (opponent's strength of schedule). Only matches against Division I opponents at the designated weight class count towards the RPI and a wrestler needs to have wrestled 15 matches to be ranked.
• Navy's strength of schedule was shown in the first RPI rankings with six wrestlers earning a spot. Griess again led Navy in the ranking at 14th overall in his respective weight class.
• Jacob Koser (197-pounds) went 2-0 in his two matches two weeks ago. Navy's team captain quickly took care of Lock Haven's Brad Morrison, defeating him by fall in just 1:56. He continued his dominance against Bucknell with a 6-0 decision win over Nolan Springer, improving to 7-1 all-time against wrestlers from Bucknell. Koser has his eyes set on reaching 80 career wins before the season's end. He would be the first Navy wrestler to reach 80 career victories since Nicholas Gill won his 80th match back in 2018.
• Koser's two wins brought his season win total to 21. He becomes the third Mid to surpass 20 wins this season, joining Koderhandt (22) and Griess (26). Not far behind is Val Park (165-pounds) with 19, Brendan Ferretti (133-pounds) with 18 and Starr with 17. The last time six Navy wrestlers ended with at least 20 wins in a season was 2018-19.
• Ferretti won his first career match over a ranked opponent in Navy's loss to Lock Haven, defeating 33rd-ranked Gable Strickland by a 5-3 decision. The freshman is tied with Koderhandt for the second most dual wins this season with six.
• Koderhandt extended his win streak to four matches with victories against the Bald Eagles and Bison. The sophomore dominated Lock Haven's Ty Linsenbigler, winning by a 16-1 (5:18) tech fall. The next day, he won a key match over 33rd-ranked Darren Miller by a 4-3 decision for his second win over Miller in three matches this season. He also won his fifth match over a ranked wrestler this season and 11th of his career, both of which lead Navy's roster.
• Griess won his first overtime match over Lock Haven's Isaac Reid. Both wrestlers scored a point on escapes in regulation, sending the match into sudden victory tied 1-1. Griess patiently waited to make his move and scored a takedown with just two seconds left in sudden victory to win the match by a 3-1 decision.
• Although Navy had already clinched the dual versus the Bison, Kaemen Smith (149-pounds) ended the day with a fall victory (4:01) over Dylan Chappell. He has defeated four opponents by fall during his freshman campaign.
• Starr won the 30th match of his career over Bucknell's Sam Barnes by a 6-2 decision. He owns a 17-13 overall record and a 5-5 dual record during his sophomore season.
• Park matched his career best with his fourth dual victory of the season back on Feb. 4. He shutout Bucknell's Riley Bower by a 4-0 decision for the 10th dual win of his career.
