The Navy men's golf team will head to the Midwest this weekend where it will play in the 14-team Hoosier Collegiate Invitational. Hosted by Indiana University, the two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at the Pfau Golf Course (par-71, 7,265 yards) with 36 holes of action scheduled for Saturday (9:00 am / shotgun start), followed by the final 18 holes on Sunday (8:30 am / No. 1 & No. 10 tees).

Tournament Notes
• The 2023 edition of the Hoosier Collegiate Invitational marks the third-consecutive year Indiana has hosted the event. Cincinnati and Illinois both shot a 6-over par 858 to tie for the team title at last year's event (played in the fall), while IU's Drew Salyers claimed medalist honors with a 5-under par 208. Michigan State took the title in April of 2021 with a 33-over par 885. The Spartans' James Piot captured medalist honors with a 2-over par 215.
• There are 2 teams among the field ranked inside the top 100 in the latest GolfStat poll (April 4) - No. 42 Chattanooga and No. 64 Indiana
• Indiana junior Drew Salyers (No. 29) is the highest-ranked player in the field, per GolfStat. The next-highest rated player is Indiana senior Mitch Davis (No. 215). Chattanooga (Garrett Engle / So / No. 249) is the only other school represented by a player inside the top 250 of the individual rankings.

Braxton Tracy each had top-20 finishes to lead Navy to an eighth-place finish last Monday at the Columbia Spring Invitational played at the Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pa.
• Despite improving its second-round mark in the afternoon by over 10 strokes, Navy moved up just one spot alongside Penn (374-367) in the final standings with a 41-over par 741 (377-364).
• Tarzy was Navy's most consistent golfer of the day, putting together rounds of 72 and 74 to tie for 20th with a 6-over par 146.
• Tracy was superb in the final round where he finished 1-under to secure his first-collegiate top-20 finish, matching Tarzy's 6-over par 146. His previous best finish was a 33rd-place mark of 12-over par 156 (78-78) at the Lehigh Invitational his rookie campaign. The veteran golfer's 69 marked the lowest round of his career, while his 6-over par 146 marked his lowest 36-hole score in total and in relation to par.

Chip Deegan, who garnered individual medalist honors for the first time in his career a week prior at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate, tied for 41st with his 10-over par 150 (74-76).
Benjamin Valdez also finished 10-over, putting together rounds of 77 and 73.
