ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Theresa Milio (Scarsdale, N.Y.) and Matt Murphy (Mullica Hill, N.J.) have been selected to captain the 2023-24 Navy swimming and diving teams.  Women's head coach John Morrison and men's head coach Bill Roberts made the announcement today.

Milio has scored points in a combined six events at the 2022 and '23 ECAC Championship meets.  She placed fourth in the 200 breaststroke as a sophomore and equaled that placement in the 100 breaststroke last year as a junior.  Milion also placed sixth in the championship final of the 200 individual medley at the 2023 meet.

In the classroom, Milio carries a 4.00 cumulative grade-point average into the start of her senior year.  The political science major ranks third in the Class of 2024's Overall Order of Merit.

Murphy has reached the championship final in five of his six events at the last two ECAC Championship meets.  He won the 200 breaststroke and placed second in the 400 individual medley at the 2023 edition of the event.

No conference championship meets were held in 2021 when Milio and Murphy were freshmen due to COVID concerns.
