ANNAPOLIS, Md. – After a bye week, the Navy sprint football team (3-1) travels to Rockville Centre, N.Y. for a match up against CSFL newcomer Molloy (0-4) on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchel Field Athletic Complex.

Scouting the Midshipmen
Navy enters the contest 3-1 overall. The Midshipmen defeated Mansfield, 31-26, before posting a 49-0 home victory over Cornell. The Mids dropped a 17-3 decision to Army at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. In their last outing, defensive back
Seamas Carrasco picked off a Chestnut Hill pass late in the game to help preserve the Midshipmen's 17-10 victory over the Griffins at A.A. Garthwaite Stadium (Conshohocken Field "A").
Through four games, Navy has outscored its opponents 100-53. The Mids have amassed 1,596 total yards of offense, including 1,152 yards rushing and 444 passing yards. The Midshipmen defense has held its opponents to 1,070 total yards with 513 rushing yards and 557 passing yards.
Hunter Gennicks leads the Midshipmen with 511 total yards rushing and a team-high six touchdowns. Quarterback
Luke Wagner has added 279 yards on the ground with two rushing TDs. Through the air, Wagner is 40-for-76 passing for 440 yards and a touchdown.
Chris Stumpf and
Biamungu Nkere lead the team with 10 receptions each for 159 and 115 yards, respectively.
Defensively, the Midshipmen have 10 players with double digit tackles.
Jake Wolinski leads the team with 36 stops, including 3.5 tackles for loss.
Major Kent and
Simon Burger follow with 19 tackles apiece, while
Tyler Cox and
Jonathan Swift add 17 stops each.
David Niski leads the team with 4.5 tackles for loss with Wolinski (3.5), Burger (3.0), and Swift (3.0) just behind.
Seamas Carrasco leads the team with a pair of interceptions, including the game-securing INT late against Chestnut Hill. As a team, the Mids have had nine different players intercept a pass, four register sacks, and have forced two fumbles.
Jacori Sutton is second on the team with 26 total points. He has made six field goals, while adding eight extra points on the year.
Scouting the Opponent
Molloy enters the weekend 0-4 overall in its first season in the Collegiate Sprint Football League. The Lions have been outscored 209-14, being shutout twice. Molloy has tallied 376 yards of total offense with 238 yards passing and 138 yards on the ground. The Lions defense has allowed 1,478 total yards including 1,036 rushing yards and 442 yards through the air.
On the offensive side of the ball, Molloy has five players – Angel Chestnut (37 yards), Paulie Drummond V (36), David DiGiovanni (35), Marquis Dixon (34), and Jovanni Elysee (34) – who have rushed for over 30 yards on the season. Drummond has completed 30 of his 73 pass attempts for 245 yards and a pair of touchdowns with five interceptions. Peter von Schoenermarck leads the team with 142 yards receiving and two touchdowns, while Ryan Tropp has a team-best 10 receptions for 80 yards.
On defense, Marquis Dixon and Anthony DiSalvo lead the team with 26 and 19 tackles, respectively. As a team, the Lions have registered 13.5 tackles for loss with 2.0 sacks. Additionally, Molloy has picked off a pass and forced a fumble.

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – Leading late in the fourth quarter, Navy defensive back
Seamas Carrasco picked off a Chestnut Hill pass to help preserve the Midshipmen's 17-10 victory over the Griffins at A.A. Garthwaite Stadium (Conshohocken Field "A").
The Mids did not lead until the 5:30 mark in the fourth quarter when the Midshipmen broke a 10-10 tie with a
Luke Wagner rush for a 15-yard touchdown. On the ensuing drive, the Griffins were methodically marching down the field, but Carrasco's interception with 73 seconds on the clock secured the Navy win.
As a team, Navy finished the game with 20 first downs compared to 14 by Chestnut Hill. The Mids out rushed the Griffins, 249-140. The passing yards was nearly even with Chestnut Hill edging Navy through the air, 99-91. Both teams turned the ball over twice with Navy losing a fumble and throwing an interception, while Chestnut Hill tossed a pair of picks, including Carrasco's game securing INT.
Wagner finished the game with 130 yards rushing to go along with 91 yards through the air. The senior offensive captain scored the go-ahead touchdown – a 15-yard sprint into the end zone in the fourth quarter. Wagner completed 12 passes to eight different receivers on the night.
Chris Stumpf led the team with 41 yards receiving on a pair of catches, including a long of 37.
Jake Berger led the team with three catches, finishing with 14 yards.
Biamungu Nkere added a pair of receptions for 12 yards.
Hunter Gennicks was credited with 54 yards on the ground, while
Broderick Freeman and
Manny Walt added 20 and 16, respectively. Walt joined Wagner with a rushing touchdown.
Defensively,
Jonathan Swift led the team with nine solo stops, including a pair of tackles for loss.
Jake Wolinski added eight tackles with
Simon Burger following with six stops and an interception.
Angelo Pearson led the team with a pair of pass breakups, while
Tyler Cox and Carrasco each broke up passes.
Jacori Sutton finished the game with a 25-yard field goal, that tied the game at 10-10 in the fourth quarter, helping Navy's come-from-behind victory.

Following the road game with Molloy, the Midshipmen will return to Annapolis for the final home game of the 2024 season for a divisional game against Penn. The game, which will be Navy's Senior Day, is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. The game will be broadcast on the Navy Athletics YouTube Channel and live stats will be available.
