Sprint Football Hosts Penn for Senior Day

Navy hosts Penn in a CSFL South Division game at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Friday night for Senior Day.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy sprint football team (4-1, 1-0) welcomes Penn (5-0, 1-0) to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for a Collegiate Sprint Football League South Division match up on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast on YouTube with Scott Wykoff of the Navy Radio Network on the call. Additionally, live stats will be available.

The game will serve as Senior Day and the Midshipmen will recognize its 14 senior players – Andrew Bailey, Simon Burger, Tyler Cox, Robert Flores, Tyron Francis Jr., Andy Jones, Major Kent, Lane Landas, Andres McCann, David Niski, Chris Stumpf, Jackson Suddath, Jonathan Swift, and Luke Wagner – prior to the game.

Additionally, student support staff members J.P. Albrecht, Maharlika Archuleta, Garrett King, Madison O'Donnell, and Will Sanchez will also be recognized.

All-Time Series
Navy holds the all-time series lead against Penn, 77-8-2 (.897). The Midshipmen are 37-3-2 all-time against the Quakers in Annapolis.

The Mids opened the series winning 57 of the first 61 meetings with a pair of ties in that stretch. The Quakers put together a three-game winning streak from 1998-00 – their longest winning streak in the series – before the Midshipmen won 15 of the next 16 games. Penn won back-to-back games in 2016 and 2017. In 2017 – the first year the CSFL split into divisions – the win gave the Quakers the CSFL South Division title and propelled them into the championship game. Navy has won the last five meetings, securing the CSFL South Division and advancing to the championship game in 2018, '19,'21, '22, and '23.

If Navy defeats Penn, then the Midshipmen will advance to the CSFL Championship on Saturday, Nov. 16 in West Point, N.Y. If the Quakers win, then there is a possibility for a three-way tie in the South Division and who would represent the CSFL South Division would come down to a tiebreaker. Since the CSFL moved to divisions in 2017, the Midshipmen and Quakers have been the only schools to win the South Division.
