Alexa Riddle Collects Fourth Career All-Patriot League Honor

Senior forward named to All-PL First Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Patriot League announced its end-of-season awards for 2024 on Friday and the Navy women's soccer team was represented by Alexa Riddle's inclusion on the All-Patriot League First Team. That honor bestowed upon Navy's senior forward puts her in rarefied air as just the ninth player in program history to earn all-league honors in each and every one of her four seasons in Annapolis.

Beginning her career with as the 2021 Patriot League Rookie of the Year and a nod on the All-Patriot League First Team, Riddle continued building her resume as one of the league's most dangerous scorers with spots on the 2022 All-Patriot League Third Team and later the 2023 All-Patriot League Second Team. As a senior this fall, the Tomball, Texas native found herself among the conference's best on the first team after scoring five goals with three assists over 18 regular season contests; she ranked ninth in the league in goals and tenth in total points with 13. Versus conference foes only, Riddle was responsible for four goals on 16 shots taken over nine competitions; ranking fifth in goals and seventh in points. She entered her name in the record books of Navy Women's Soccer on Sept. 25 when she found the back of the net on three separate occasions versus Loyola. Riddle's hat trick came over the course of the first 31 minutes against the Greyhounds; the hat trick was the 20th in program history.

Over her storied career, she's scored 19 goals with 11 assists over 72 games and 4,836 minutes of action so far. Seven of Riddle's goals have stood up as game-winners.

The Navy women's soccer team will begin its run of postseason play this Sunday afternoon with a quarterfinal showdown versus service academy rival Army. The sixth-seeded Mids and third-seeded Black Knights will go head-to-head at Malek Stadium on the grounds of the U.S. Military Academy. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
