ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) announced its weekly award winners and Navy senior defensive back
Tyler Cox was recognized as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Midshipmen's 28-14 road victory over Caldwell.
Cox helped anchor a Navy defense that picked off four passes and broke up an additional three pass attempts at Caldwell on Saturday evening.
He notched a season-high two interceptions in the game, bringing his season total to three. The senior safety registered both INTs in the second quarter, helping thwart scoring attempts by the Cougars.
In addition, Cox added a pair of tackles, holding Caldwell to just four total yards on his two stops.
Up next, the Midshipmen, who are the CSFL South Division Champions, will travel to New York to face off against Army who won the CSFL North. The game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, and will be live streamed.
