Hanson Named to Academic All-District Team

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Navy's Arleigh Hanson has earned academic all-district honors from the College Sports Communicators (formerly College Sports Information Director's of America) for the sport of volleyball.

To be eligible for the award in the sport, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and either play in 90 percent of the team's matches or start 66 percent of the matches.

Hanson made 16 starts this season, appeared in each of the team's 25 matches and played in all but three of Navy's 91 sets.  She dished out 444 assists on the year, with her average of 5.05 assists per set ranking seventh in the Patriot League.  Hanson also snared an average of 2.29 digs per set.  She improved her averages during the league season to 6.05 assists per set (fourth in the league) and 2.75 digs per set.

In the classroom, the sophomore operations research major entered the 2024 fall semester with a grade-point average of 3.60.  Hanson received academic honors from the USNA in both semesters of her freshman year, including being named to the Superintendent's List for the 2024 spring term.
