WEST POINT, N.Y. --
Lauren Walsh and
Mackenzie Kim won a pair of events for the Navy women's swimming and diving team as the Mids lost both the men's and women's meets to Army, Thursday night at Crandall Pool in West Point, N.Y. The Black Knights (8-1) won the women's meet over Navy (7-4) by the score of 169-131 and Army (6-1) defeated the Mids (8-3), 192.5-107.5, in the men's meet.
The meet was part of the Army-Navy Star Series, presented by USAA.
The results ends the 35-year winning streak in the series by the Navy women's team and gives the Army men's team two victories in the last 34 years but also back-to-back wins in Crandall Pool.

Bill Roberts. "Tonight didn't go the way we had hoped and prepared for it to go. As we move forward, we need to make the adjustments necessary for us to be better in the next meet."

John Morrison, "congratulations to Army for putting together a great meet and win. I was real proud of the fight we had through the meet, which led to many lifetime-best performances. While this is definitely a big loss, we are leaning into many of the lessons we have learned and look forward to getting back to work for the championship season."
The diving events were contested prior to the start of the swimming portion of the meet. Kim totaled 270.95 points to win the one-meter board and 280.15 points to win the three-meter event. Additionally,
Blakeman Shaw won the three-meter competition for the Navy men's team with his score of 310.40.
Walsh swept the breaststroke races to tally the lone Navy swimming event victories in the meet. She posted times of 1:00.39 to win the 100 breast and 2:12.63 to win the 200 breast.
The Navy men's team will next compete January 4 when it plays host to Towson, the both teams will face Princeton and Kenyon on Jan. 10-11 at Princeton.
