PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Navy men's tennis team saw its season-opening eight-match winning streak come to a close Friday with a pair of losses to Penn in the Philadelphia school's Hecht Tennis Center. The Quakers (5-3) defeated the Mids (8-2) by the score of 7-0 in each match.

Penn won both of the doubles points, with its No. 1 doubles team of Aaron Sandler and Kian Vakili, the 41st-ranked team in the country, winning two matches.

Navy's No. 1 singles players Sasha Panyan and Herrick Legaspi each played well in losses to Manfredi Graziani.  Panyan dropped a 6-3, 7-5 decision in the first dual of the day and Legaspi fell, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-0), in the second match.

Also going into a third set was Aniketh Ayinala, who lost to Sandler, 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 (10-4) at No. 3 singles in the morning match.

Navy will be in the Tose Family Tennis Center for matches Saturday against LIU (10 a.m.) and Youngstown State (1:30 p.m.).
