ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Included among the United States Naval Academy's Class of 2024 were 35 varsity athletes who earned Graduate with Distinction honors.  Nineteen varsity teams had at least one graduate among the honorees.
 
Those who garner Graduate with Distinction laurels finish in the top-10 percent of the graduating class in Overall Order of Merit, which includes academics, military performance, conduct and physical education standing.  There were 107 members of the Class of 2024 who earned the accolade, including Valedictorian Robby Klanac, who was a member of the lightweight rowing team, and gymnast Ian Dinmore, who finished second in Overall Order of Merit.  There were 1,061 graduates in the Class of 2024.
 
This is the ninth year in a row, the 11th time in the last 12 years and 19th time starting with the Class of 2000 in which the No. 1 graduate in Overall Order of Merit is a varsity sport athlete.

Kaden Dohn (2020) and Will Jarrett (2022) are recent lightweight rowers to be named Valedictorian of their respective classes.
 
Klanac and Dinmore were two of the five varsity athletes to rank among the top-seven graduates in the class.  Annie Taylor from the women's track team ranked fifth, women's swimmer Theresa Milio ranked sixth and Patrick Palm from the sprint football team ranked seventh.  Additionally, 15 varsity athletes ranked among the top-29 graduates.
