INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --
Ben Irwin qualifying for the semifinals in the 200 backstroke highlighted the efforts of the six Navy men's swimmers at last week's USA Swimming Olympic Team Trials.
Irwin, who also swam in the 100 back at the event, won his heat in the 200 back and placed 12th in the trial heats of the event with a time of 1:58.96. He would finish in a tie for 12th place in the semifinal round of racing with a clocking of 1:59.89.
