Men’s Soccer Hosts FDU and Niagara on Labor Day Weekend

Navy Set to Play Three of Next Four Games at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – A busy Labor Day weekend awaits the Navy men's soccer team (0-1-1) after drawing in its first road match of the campaign, as the Midshipmen prepare for two non-conference home games at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility. Navy will look to pick up its first win of the season and start a streak when it hosts FDU (2-0-0) on Friday night and Niagara (0-2-0) on Monday evening in a pair of 7 p.m. contests, with both matchups streaming on ESPN+.

Pierce Between the Posts
With four saves in the season opener and five more in the draw at Stonehill, senior goalkeeper Pierce Holbrook has picked up right where he left off from the past two seasons … Holbrook's 64 saves last season and 69 saves in 2022 made him the first Navy goalkeeper with back-to-back 60-save seasons since Mac Burke in 2016-17 (64, 92) … Additionally, Holbrook became the seventh Navy goalie since 1975 to have back-to-back 60-save seasons … Holbrook's 15 career shutouts are tied for the second most by a Navy goalkeeper since 1983, matching Mike Ulses (1985-88) and Dave Postell (1983-85) … The 15 career shutouts are also the 11th most among active Division I goalies while his .751 career save percentage is 19th compared to other DI keepers … League- and nation-wise, Holbrook led the Patriot League with 1,685:23 minutes played (28th in the country) and 64 total saves (39th in the country) last year, also ranking second in the league with seven shutouts (19th in the country) and 3.37 saves per game.

Series History vs. FDU
Navy is 2-2-0 in the all-time series with FDU, including a 1-2-0 mark against the Knights at home … The Mids have dropped their two most recent matches with FDU, as the Knights pulled off 1-0 wins at Glenn Warner Soccer Facility in both 2011 and 2022 … That 2022 matchup saw Jayd Hamdaoua score for the Knights in the 45th minute.
