Navy - Women
The Navy women's team split a pair of meets Saturday at UMBC, defeating the host Retrievers by the score of 236-63 and falling to William & Mary, 169-124.

Mackenzie Kim was the lone Mid to finish in first place in an event over the two other teams as she won both diving boards.  Navy swimmers would place second in nine of the 12 individual events.  Allie Maloney led the way with second-place showings in the 200 back and 200 fly races.

Navy - Men
The men's team started the season by topping both UMBC (190-101) and William & Mary (192-93).

Ten different Mids won an individual event on the day.  This included Chase Maier winning the 500 and 1000 free races, Juan Mora sweeping the breaststroke events and Anthony Sciulli placing first on the one-meter and three-meter boards.  Maier would be named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for his performance.

Loyola - Women
Loyola registered a 274-83 victory over Lafayette on Oct. 9, then defeated both Lehigh (190-110) and American (216-84) two days later.  Both of those meets were hosted by the Greyhounds.

Navy holds a 20-1 edge in the all-time series between the teams.  This includes a 182.5-117.5 victory by the Mids over the Greyhounds last season in Annapolis as part of a meet that also included LSU.

Navy won 10 of the 16 events against Loyola last season in Annapolis.  The teams split the first 10 events to be contested, then the Mids won the ensuing five events until the Greyhounds ended the meet by winning the 400 free relay.

Lauren Walsh and Kim return for the Mids after each won a pair of events against Loyola last season.  Walsh won both breaststroke races and Kim placed first in each diving event.

Also back for Navy are Marin Rose, who won the 1000 free, Ela Habjan, the winner of the 100 back, and Elsie Delacruz, who finished first in the 200 IM.

Loyola returns Riley Fried, who won the 200 fly last season.

Loyola - Men
Loyola's men's team has matched the women's program this year with wins over the Leopards (287-70), Mountain Hawks (250-48) and Eagles (252-47).

The Mids have won all 10 previous meets with the Greyhounds, including a 193-106 decision a year ago on The Yard.

Loyola won the opening 200 medley relay during year's dual, but the Mids would win the next five races as part of a 14-1 run of victories over the remainder of the meet.

Returning for Navy are event winners Dean Jones, 1000 free; Ben Irwin, 100 back, 200 back; Mora, 100 breast, 100 fly; Tyler Kaminski, 200 fly; Michael Phillips, 200 breast, 200 IM and Luca Oliva, 500 free.
