ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- For the second week in a row, the Navy men's tennis team will split its squad to compete in a trio of tournaments at two locations in Virginia as well as here in Annapolis. The Mids will participate on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Region Championship in Blacksburg, Va., the Commander-in-Chief's Tennis Challenge in Arlington, Va., and the Navy Gold Invite.
The ITA event runs Wednesday through Monday with the other two tournaments slated to start Friday and end Sunday.

ITA Atlantic Region Championship
Virginia Tech is playing host to the ITA Atlantic Region Championship at its Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center and Washington Street Courts. The event brings together singles players and doubles teams from throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region in an effort to qualify for the NCAA Championship. The winning doubles team and both singles finalists will advance from each of the 13 regional championships across the country to the NCAA Championship.
Qualifying rounds in singles start Thursday with the main draw and the first round of doubles taking place on Friday. Video will be available for matches being played at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center Play begins at 9 a.m. daily.

In the first round of doubles, Ayinala and Etterbeek will play William & Mary's Austin Cohen and Theo Nilsson while Spencer and
Nathan Nguyen will face Liberty's Ben Sparks and Chase Robinson. Second round matches include
Steve Nguyen and Young playing Virginia's top-seeded team of Mans Dahlberg and Dylan Dietrich while the pairing of Legaspi and Kim, the sixth-seeded team in the draw, await the winner of the match between George Mason's Deniz Okyaj and Shaharyar Saeed and Virginia's Stiles Brockett and Douglas Yaffa.
Navy Gold Invite
The second of three tournaments being hosted by the Mids this fall includes Delaware, Drexel, Howard, Loyola, Morgan State and Mount St. Mary's. It is a flighted tournament in which players will compete in singles and doubles against foes within a bracket in a round-robin format.
Play will be contested at both the outdoor USNA Tennis Courts and the indoor Tose Family Tennis Center and will start at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. The start time and location for Sunday is dependent upon the weather, which currently has rain in the forecast for the final day of the tournament.
Commander-in-Chief's Tennis Challenge
The indoor courts at the Army Navy Country Club will play host to the event featuring men's and women's players from Army, Navy, Air Force and Georgetown. The Navy men's team will face Air Force at 5 p.m. on Friday, Army at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and Georgetown at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The Mids faced competition last week at the River City Tennis Open in Richmond, Va., the Holmes Cathrall Memorial Invite in University Park, Pa., and the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic in San Diego, Calif.
Etterbeek leads Navy in singles wins through three weeks of the fall campaign with a 4-1 record.

Buckingham and Young have been Navy's most successful doubles players this fall as each has compiled a 5-0 record. Buckingham has teamed with Legaspi for a 3-0 record while the duo of Young and
