ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team continues its Patriot League schedule Saturday when it plays host to Lehigh in Annapolis and travels to face Lafayette in Easton, Pa. The match between the Mids (14-13, 2-0 Patriot League) and the Mountain Hawks (7-6, 1-0 Patriot League) starts at 11 a.m. on the USNA Tennis Courts and the team's dual against the Leopards (4-10, 1-2 Patriot League) is slated for a noon first serve.
Vehicle Access
Only those vehicles driven by someone with a Department of Defense (DoD)-approved identification card will be allowed onto the USNA. Fans without DoD approved vehicle access to the USNA must park outside of The Yard and walk through either the gate one visitors center (52 King George St., Annapolis, MD, 21402) or gate eight. Everyone ages 18 and over must have a valid picture ID (i.e.: State issued driver's license, student I.D., or a government issued passport). Visitors ages 17 and younger who do not have a valid picture ID must be accompanied by an adult.
Navy Review
The Mids split four matches last weekend as they posted wins over Coppin State (7-0) and Boston University (7-0) and lost matches to Brown (6-1) and Temple (4-3).
Herrick Legaspi won all four of his matches while playing No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. The wins improved his overall record in dual matches this year to 20-8.
Teaming with Legaspi for two wins in doubles was
Charlie Spencer. He has now tallied an 11-4 mark in doubles this spring.
Leading the Mids in singles victories this season is
George Cutone. He added a pair of straight-set victories last weekend to his ledger and has now posted a 12-5 record this year.
Lehigh Preview - Saturday, 11 a.m., USNA Tennis Courts
Lehigh's lone league match to date was a 5-2 victory over Colgate. The Mountain Hawks also have defeated Saint Francis (5-2), Fairleigh Dickinson (5-2), Mount St. Mary's (7-0), Long Island (5-2) and Villanova (5-2) and lost to Drexel (7-0) and Monmouth (6-1).
Navy has recorded wins over Colgate (6-1), Saint Francis (7-0), Villanova (6-1), Fairleigh Dickinson (6-1), Mount St. Mary's (4-3) and Long Island (6-1) and dropped matches to Drexel (5-2) and Monmouth (5-2).
The Mids emerged with a 4-2 victory over the Mountain Hawks when the teams met in Bethlehem in 2024.
Lafayette Preview - Saturday, Noon, Leopard Courts
The Leopards played a trio of Patriot League matches last weekend in West Point. Lafayette posted a 4-3 victory over Loyola and lost matches to Holy Cross (4-1) and Army (4-0). The Leopards also have defeated Coppin State (6-1) and lost to Monmouth (4-0) and Saint Francis (5-2).
Navy posted a 4-0 victory over Lafayette last season.
