BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Navy women's golf team will look to become just the second repeat champion in Patriot League history this weekend, as the Midshipmen travel to Bethlehem, Pa., for the 2025 Patriot League Championship at the Saucon Valley Country Club.
 
Being held Friday through Sunday on the par-72, 6012-yard Grace Course, the league championship will see the five-team field begin tee times each day at 9:00 a.m. With a first-place finish, the Mids would become the first repeat Patriot League champions since former affiliate member Richmond's three-peat from 2016-18. A championship would also be the Mids' third Patriot League crown, adding to Navy's previous league titles in 2021 and 2024.

The Field
Navy and host Lehigh will be joined by fellow Patriot League members Boston University, Bucknell and Holy Cross … The Mids have cross paths with Boston at the Great Danes Invitational in the fall as well as last week's Navy Spring Invitational … Navy has seen the Crusaders at both of the Mids' home tournaments as well as the Sea Best Intercollegiate … The Mids and Mountain Hawks competed together three times in the fall at the Navy Fall Invitational, the Great Danes Invitational and the Lehigh Invitational.
 
The Course
Named after Saucon Valley Country Club founder and 1899 Lehigh graduate Eugene Gifford Grace, the par-72, 6012-yard course has previously hosted the Patriot League Championship in 2014, 2017 and 2021 … The last championship at Saucon Valley in 2021 saw Navy win its first league title … The Grace Course was also the site of Bucknell's lone Patriot League title in 2014 and Richmond's second of three-straight titles in 2017.
 
Last Time Out
Wrapping up the regular season on its home course this past weekend, Navy used a pair of top-5 individual performances to spur a runner-up team finish at the 2025 Navy Spring Invitational … The Mids posted a round of 300 to open the tournament on Saturday while the team responded with a 296 score Sunday in a continued chase of first-place Boston, with Navy finishing the weekend at 20-over par 596, just two strokes shy of the Terriers … The top-5 found two Mids inside it, as sophomore Emma Tang and junior Sue Lee finished tied with each other for fifth place at 4-over par 148 … Also posting a top-10 finish, sophomore Keira Howard tied for seventh on the leaderboard at 7-over par 151 … Freshman Vivian Cressman shot a 10-over par 154 to tie for 13th, while fellow rookie Megan Kirkpatrick posted a weekend score of 12-over par 156 to place 16th.
 
Navy at the PL Championship
The Mids have finished in the top-3 of the league championship in four of the last five tournaments, including taking home the program's first PL crown in 2021 and earning Navy's first NCAA Regional berth … The 2021 Championship in Bethlehem, Pa., saw three Mids tie for fourth to help Navy finish at a weekend-best 57-over par 921, as both Mara Hirtle and Stephanie Lee shot 14-over par 230 to earn First Team All-Patriot League honors … In 2022, the league tournament had Navy place third in Annapolis at 76-over par 940, as Lee finished tied for seventh at 236 while Hirtle took ninth overall at 238 … The 2023 championship had the Mids combine to shoot the program's lowest-ever three-round score in Patriot League Championship history, as Hirtle led the way with a ninth-place finish at 5-over par 221 while Navy posted a 32-over par 896 score to place fourth in Midlothian, Va. … Posting a tournament-best 9-over par 289 in the final round to capture the 2024 Patriot League Championship in Lewisburg, The Mids finished with a three-day score of 42-over par 882 while Lee shot a tournament score of 8-over par 218 to earn individual medalist honors while Sue Lee closed as the tournament runner-up at 9-over par 219.
 
Navy at Saucon Valley Country Club
The Mids have played at the Saucon Valley Country Club a total of 10 times, competing in seven Lehigh Invitationals and a trio of Patriot League Championships at the course … Navy has claimed the team title in three of its last four trips to Saucon Valley, winning the 2022 and 2024 Lehigh Invitationals and the 2021 Patriot League Championship while taking second in the 2021 Lehigh Invitational … In the first two league championships hosted at the Bethlehem-based course, the Mids finished fourth in both the 2014 and 2017 tournaments … Navy's last trip to Saucon Valley saw the Mids cruised their way to the team title at the 2024 Lehigh Invitational, as four Mids finishing in the top-10 paced Navy to weekend total of 38-over par 614, 22 strokes ahead of second-place Albany … Ending the weekend as the individual runner-up at the 2024 Lehigh Invitational, freshman Megan Kirkpatrick closed at an 8-over par 152 that was just two strokes behind individual medalist Katelynn Waclawski of Fairfield.
