ANNAPOLIS, Md.--WNAV Radio (1430 AM) in Annapolis has announced an extension of its long-running partnership with the Naval Academy Athletic Association through the 2027 season, ensuring continued coverage of Navy sports as the station enters its 77th year of broadcasting Midshipmen athletics.
Â
WNAV has carried Navy games since going on the air in 1949, making it one of the most enduring broadcast relationships in college sports. The new agreement strengthens that legacy and sets the stage for expanded programming as Navy football kicks off the 2025 season.
Â
"We are very pleased to extend our long-running partnership with WNAV Radio in the Greater Annapolis market. The station has long been synonymous with Navy Athletics and continues to expand past football to include play-by-play broadcasts of men's & women's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, baseball and shoulder programming. WNAV is definitely the go to place for all things Navy Athletics in the Annapolis area," said NAAA Deputy Athletic Director Eric Ruden. Â
Â
A Historic Partnership
Â
"Continuing this tradition of Navy football and Navy sports on WNAV into an 80th anniversary is an awesome responsibility and truly humbling," said Todd Bartley, managing member of Victory Media of Maryland, LLC, licensee of WNAV. "Knowing that Navy service members past and present all over the globe can access the broadcasts and follow the Mids on radio and through the online platforms we provide is incredibly meaningful."
