#15 Navy Squash Scores 9-0 Sweep Over Shorthanded Chatham in Regular-Season Finale

The 15th-ranked Navy squash team (21-3) closed out the regular season with a 9-0 victory over #23 Chatham (6-7) Saturday afternoon at Steele City Squash in Pittsburgh, Pa. Earlier in the week, this year's team became just the 12th in program history to reach the 20-win mark in a single season and the first since 2016-17. With 21 wins to date, it's the most regular-season wins by a Navy team since 2012-13 when that squad posted a 24-7 regular-season mark before closing out the year with a 25-9 record.

Match Highlights
• Chatham has played its entire season at least one player down and in the latter half of the season it has been two players down.
• With a 2-0 lead to open the match, the Mids needed just three victories to clinch the team win. Instead, the Mids took all seven matches.
• Just two of the seven matches went into an extra frame, including team captain Alexander Orr's match against Muhammad Hassaan Raza. Orr opened with an 11-5 win before Raza knotted the match with an 11-5 game two victory. Orr, however, would not be denied as he won the next two games (11-9, 11-2) to capture the win.
• Orr is now 17-3 on the year and 71-38 over his four seasons at the Academy. He stands alone in 13th on the Mids' all-time wins leader board, just one win shy of tying former teammate Matt Wang for (72-50 / 2021-25).
• Johan Hodgson (Fr / Riverside, Conn.) won the first two games in his match at #4 against Alejandro Cruz, however, Cruz forced a fourth after he won game three 11-7. Hodgson took game four 11-1 to earn his fourth-consecutive win of the season.
• Wenqing Tang (So / Villanova, Pa.), Christian Graziano (Fr / Greenwich, Conn.), Matthew Kang (Jr / Malvern, Pa.), Avinash Uppuluri (So / Short Hills, N.J.) and Michael Tierney Jr. (So / Berwyn, Pa.) all earned 3-0 wins, while Ramsay Killinger (Jr / Wyndmoor, Pa.) and Eli Levy (So / Williamstown, Mass.) earned victories by way of defaults.
• For Killinger, he became the 40th Navy player to reach the 50-win milestone for their career.

What's Ahead
• Navy kicks off action at the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championship next Friday when it battles #6 Drexel (6-3) in the opening round. The match is tentatively set for 6:30 pm at the McArthur Squash Center in Charlottesville, Va.
