CLEVELAND, Ohio – Danny Wask closed out Navy's 2025-26 season with a sixth-place finish at 174 pounds at the 95th NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship on Saturday at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
Â
Navy finished 28th with 11.5 points, marking the third-straight season head coach
Cary Kolat has led the Midshipmen to a top-30 finish.
Â
Wask, who became the program's 16th two-time All-American on Friday, capped his tournament with a 4-3 record and secured his second-consecutive podium finish. Additionally, it was the third-consecutive season a Midshipman reached All-America honors.
Â
"We had what I would describe as an up-and-down performance at the tournament this year," Kolat said. "We brought no seniors and three of our competitors were freshmen gaining valuable experience. If they make the necessary adjustments, we expect to come back strong next year with a young and developing team."

174 / Consolation Semifinals / No. 5 Patrick Kennedy (Iowa) def. No. 15 Danny Wask, 11-1 Major Decision
Wask met Kennedy for the third time in their careers, with Kennedy entering the bout after earning his second All-America honor earlier in the tournament. Kennedy set the tone early with a pair of first-period takedowns to build a 6-1 lead while accumulating over two minutes of riding time. He added an escape to open the second period and followed with another takedown to extend the margin to 10-1. Neither wrestler scored in the third, but Kennedy secured the riding-time point to finish off the 11-1 major decision.
Â
174 / Fifth-Place Match / No. 7 Cam Steed (Missouri) def. No. 15 Danny Wask, 5-3 Decision
Wask faced Steed for the second time in as many days after their quarterfinal meeting. Steed struck quickly with a takedown in the opening seconds to take early control. Wask answered with an escape to cut the deficit to 3-1 after the first period. In the second, Steed maintained top position and built a riding-time advantage that proved decisive. After extending the lead with an escape in the third, Steed held off a late push as Wask scored on stalling calls to make it 5-3.
Â
Wask finished the tournament in sixth place at 174 pounds, becoming the 16th wrestler in program history to earn multiple All-America honors and the first since Joe Baker (2008-09) to do so in back-to-back seasons.
Â
"Danny [Wask] will enter next season highly ranked and has the potential to contend for a national title," Kolat remarked.
