All-Time Series
The game marks the 25th meeting between the two teams in women's lacrosse. Navy holds an 18-6 (.750) overall record against Lehigh. The Mids are 7-2 (.778) against the Mountain Hawks in Annapolis.
Before the back-to-back losses to the Mountain Hawks during the 2021 season, the Midshipmen had won 11 in a row and 13 of the prior 15 meetings. Since 2021, Navy has won five consecutive games against Lehigh.
Six of the last nine meetings between the two teams have been played outside of Annapolis with five meetings taking place in Bethlehem, Pa. Navy and Lehigh met in the semifinal of the 2018 Patriot League Tournament in Baltimore before playing three consecutive games in 2019 (regular season) and 2021 (regular season and Patriot League Tournament) in Bethlehem. The two teams returned to Annapolis in 2022 before continuing the series in Bethlehem in 2023.
In 2024, Navy opened the game with a 9-0 run and never looked back as the Midshipmen posted a 15-4 victory over Lehigh at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The defense held the Mountain Hawks to single-digit goals, while the offense tallied 15 goals with eight assists in the win. The Midshipmen dominated possession, winning 18 of 20 draw controls on the night.
During the 2025 regular season, then-senior draw control specialist
Alyssa Daley became the first player in program history with 20 or more draws in a game as she recorded a new school record of 21 draw controls to help then #22 Navy to a 21-5 road victory over Lehigh at Frank Banko Field at the Ulrich Sports Complex in Bethlehem, Pa.
The two teams met for a second time in 2025 as the Midshipmen hosted the Mountain Hawks in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League Tournament. Navy posted a 19-2 over Lehigh to advance to the PL Semifinals. Ten different Midshipmen combined for 19 goals, including six that posted multiple goals.
Taylor Miles led the team with seven points, notching her first collegiate hat trick and tying a career-best with four assists. Defensively, Navy surrendered just two goals, holding Lehigh scoreless in the second half. It was the first time that the Midshipmen held an opponent scoreless in a half since holding the Mountain Hawks without a goal in the second half in a 15-4 victory in 2023.
Scouting the Midshipmen
The Navy women's lacrosse team improved to a program-best 10-0 on the season with an 18-3 win at Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon. Led by a career-high six goals by senior team captain
Emma Kennedy, the Mids outscored the Crusaders 16-0 through the first two and a half quarters of play to cruise to the victory.
As a team, the Midshipmen have tallied 151 goals with 73 assists, while picking up 170 ground balls, winning 141 draw controls, and causing 81 turnovers.
Entering the week,
Alyssa Chung,
Taylor Miles, and
Ava Yovino lead the team with over 30 points apiece. Chung paces the team with 44 points on a team-high 32 goals with 12 assists to her credit. Miles and Yovino follow with 36 and 33 points, respectively. Miles has 22 scores with 14 helpers for her 36 points, while Yovino has 15 goals with a team-high 18 assists for 33 points.
Kennedy and
Mikayla Williams round out the Midshipmen's top five. Kennedy, who notched a career-high six goals against the Crusaders, has 29 points on 25 goals and four assists. Williams, who notched a hat trick in last six games prior to Holy Cross, has 27 points on 20 goals and seven assists.
Maggie DeFabio and
Anna Gotterup close out the Mids double-digit point scorers. DeFabio has 14 points on 11 goals and three assists, while Gotterup follows with 11 points on four goals and seven assists.
Bella Paradiso, who posted her first multi-goal game of her career against Holy Cross, has seven points on six goals and an assist, while
Chloe Brown has six points thanks to five goals and a helper.
Caroline Gage and
Kat McAteer add five points apiece. Gage, who also notched her first multi-goal performance on Saturday, has four scores and an assist, while McAteer has five points on two goals and three assists.
Rowan Kimmel (1g 1a) follows with two points with
Julia Frosch (1a),
Grace Mitchell (1g),
Natalie O'Neill (1g),
Zoe Ryan (1g), and
Lily Schmalz (1g) closing out the scoring with one point each.
Defensively, the Midshipmen have held their opponents to 7.90 goals per game. The Navy defense has held five opponents – Villanova (5 goals), High Point (6 goals), South Florida (8 goals), Bucknell (6 goals), and Holy Cross (3 goals) – to single-digit goals.
The Mids have caused 81 of their opponents' 150 turnovers (54.0 percent). Yovino and
Felicia Giglio lead the team with 11 caused turnovers apiece.
Jaclyn Johns is next with seven, while Chung, DeFabio, and
Jalin Jenkins are tied with six apiece.
Giglio leads the team with 26 ground balls with Yovino following with 25 ground ball pickups. DeFabio has 16 with Johns following with 12. Gage and
Landen Cain have 11 to close out Navy's double-digit ground balls.
Giglio has played and started each game for Navy in the cage, working 562:54 minutes of action between the posts. The junior goalie has 70 of the Mids' 76 saves on the year with a 7.99 goals against average.
Freshman goalkeeper
Angelina Price has posted six saves in just under 35 and a half minutes of action (35:36), while sophomore
Lila Stachowski saw her first collegiate action against High Point, working the final 90 seconds at goal in the Mids' 14-6 victory.
In the circle,
Maura Murphy boasts a team-high 63 draw wins. The senior notched her first double-digit draw performance against High Point, finishing with a game-high 14 draw wins. Yovino follows with 36 draws, while Kennedy adds 20 draw wins.
Scouting the Opposition
Lehigh enters the week with a 5-5 overall record with an 0-3 mark in the Patriot League. The Mountain Hawks enter the game having lost three straight games – Mount St. Mary's (L, 20-12), Holy Cross (L, 12-9), and American (L, 19-15).
Lehigh is led by Kacie Wines and Molly Snow, who boast 44 and 43 points, respectively. Snow leads the team with 26 goals, while adding 17 assists for 43 points with Wines scoring 15 goals with a team-best 29 assists. Gracie Shoup has 32 points on a balanced 14 goals and 18 assists, while Nina DeNicola (24g 3a) and Grace Martel (19g 1a) round out the Mountain Hawks' top five points scores with 27 and 20.
Brynn Freeman leads the team with 22 ground balls, while Snow paces the squad with 12 caused turnovers. Morgan Lesiewicz has a team-high 35 draw controls.
Micaela Jennings has played and started all 10 games for the Mountain Hawks at goal. She has registered 65 saves with 86 goals allowed for a 13.58 goals against average in just under 380 minutes of action. Jane Hughes has seen action in seven gams with 41 stops and 39 goals allowed (10.80 GAA) in nearly 217 minutes between the pipes.
National Rankings
For the second consecutive week, the Navy women's lacrosse team is ranked fourth in all three national polls – the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I Coaches Poll, the Inside Lacrosse KANE Women's Division I Media Poll, and the USA Lacrosse poll. It is the highest ranking ever for the Midshipmen.
Prior to claiming the #4 spot in Week 6 of the 2026 season, fifth (Weeks 4 and 5) was the highest in-season ranking in any poll for Navy. The Midshipmen have been ranked in the top 10 according to the IWLCA 14 times, including the first weekly poll of the season (Feb. 9, 2026), which was the first time in the top 10 since the final poll of the 2018 season (ranked 6th on May 29, 2018).
The Midshipmen began the season 16th in the preseason polls according to the IWLCA and the Inside Lacrosse, while opening the year at #14 in the USA Lacrosse preseason poll.
Patriot League Athlete of the Week
The Patriot League announced its weekly honors and Navy junior
Felicia Giglio was tabbed Goalkeeper of the Week for the fifth time this season. Giglio helped lead Navy to a pair of victories on the week, defeating Arizona State (W, 11-10) and Holy Cross (W, 18-3) to improve to 10-0 – the best start in program history.
Giglio anchored a Navy defense that held a pair of opponents to just 13 goals (6.5 gpg), including holding Holy Cross to season-low three goals. It was the fifth time this season that the Midshipmen have held an opponent to single digits – the second Patriot League opponent. She led the Navy defense that was selected as one of LaxReference's DI Women's Lacrosse Stars for the week. The junior goalkeeper finished the week with 11 saves, eight ground balls, and four caused turnovers.
