ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The final Army-Navy Star Match of the 2025-26 academic year will be played Saturday when the Mids (23-17, 5-1) play host to the Black Knights (17-9, 5-0) in men's tennis at the USNA Tennis Courts in Annapolis. First serve for the doubles matches is set for 1 p.m.
The match is part of the Army-Navy Star Series, which is presented by USAA. Navy holds a 16-8-1 advantage in this year's Star Series heading into the weekend.

Fan Access Information
Fans without prior authorization will not be allowed to either walk or drive onto the USNA grounds. They instead must park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and ride the shuttle bus. Enter the blue / west parking lot through gate 5 off of Taylor Avenue (550 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, Md., 21401). There is a $10 per vehicle parking fee. The free fan shuttle bus will leave from and return to the Blue Angel jet. Everyone ages 18 and over must have either a state issued driver's license with REAL ID or a U.S. government issued passport. Visitors ages 17 and younger without a valid picture ID must be accompanied by an adult. Foreign passports are not permitted for general access.
The shuttle will ONLY be transporting fans TO the matches from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with the drop-off point by the tennis courts starting at noon. However, it will be available to return fans to the stadium until 5 p.m.
Patriot League Tournament Implications
Saturday's match will go a long way toward determining the seeding for next week's Patriot League Tournament. Army enters the weekend as the league's lone undefeated team with a 5-0 record. Navy and Lehigh are just behind the Black Knights with identical 5-1 records. The Mids lost a 4-3 decision to the Mountain Hawks and Army handed Lehigh its only loss by the score of 4-0.
Navy has defeated Boston (7-0), Loyola (7-0), Bucknell (5-2), Lafayette (4-0) and Colgate (7-0) in league play. Army's additional league wins came against Lafayette (4-0), Holy Cross (4-0), Bucknell (4-3) and Boston (4-0).
Lehigh plays host to Bucknell on Saturday.
Additional Common Opponents
Army and Navy have played nine additional common opponents, with the two teams having the same result against eight of them. Both teams have beaten St. Bonaventure, Long Island, Binghamton and Hofstra and lost to Monmouth, UC Irvine, NJIT and Wagner. Also, Navy registered a 4-1 win over Air Force and the Falcons defeated the Black Knights by the score of 4-2.
Navy Preview
The Mids have posted a 6-0 record in the month of April, a span that was capped by wins over Bucknell, Lafayette and Colgate last weekend.
The Navy players as a team have compiled an 11-3 record in doubles against league foes and a 28-5 mark in singles.
Individually,
J.J. Etterbeek improved his singles record in league matches to 4-0,
Herrick Legaspi and
Charlie Spencer have tallied 4-1 marks and
Aniketh Ayinala now has put together a 3-1 record. Etterbeek is also pacing the team with a 5-0 record in doubles. Seven Mids have won at least two league doubles matches. Navy's lineup during the league campaign has featured 12 different players and 11 different doubles teams.
Army Preview
Saturday's match in Annapolis will be just the second road match of the league season for the Black Knights (Bucknell), their fourth true road match of the year and eighth match played away from West Point this season.
Army's players have collectively tallied an 8-3 record in doubles and a 16-2 record in singles during the league season.
Army's No. 1 doubles team of Daniel Choi and Jack Hanna has posted a 3-1 record in league matches, as has the team of Tucker Culpepper and Marcus Sebastian which has played at both the Nos. 2 and 3 flights.
Matias Feoli leads the Black Knights with a 3-0 record in singles against league foes while six players on the team enter the weekend with 2-0 records in singles.
Series Notes
Navy has posted a 74-38 record against Army, which includes a 34-14 record in matches played at Navy. The Mids have won the last 12 overall matches in the series and the last four matches that have been played on The Yard.
Navy also holds a 58-30 advantage in Star Matches played between the teams. This includes a 30-13 record in Star Matches played at Navy. The Mids have won the last nine Star Matches including the last four times it has been played in Annapolis.
Eleven of the last 20 Star Matches (2005-19, '21-25) have had the final score of 4-3. This includes six of the last nine Star Matches played at Navy.
The team winning the doubles point has gone on to win the match in just three of the last seven matches (2021-25) and has posted a 16-11 record over the last 27 matches (dating back to 2010).
2025 Recap
Navy defeated Army twice during the 2025 spring season. The Mids first won a 4-0 decision at Army in the Star Match and then posted a 4-2 victory in the semifinal round of the league tournament in a match played at Bucknell. The latter match took over three and one-half hours to finish.
Each of the six singles matches in the postseason pairing of the teams were extended to three sets. It was the first time since the format featured only six singles matches starting in the early 1940s in which all of them were decided in three sets.

Each team returns seven players who have faced the other in a dual match. The returning Mids have posted a 9-0-5 record (wins - losses - unfinished matches) in doubles and a 6-4-4 record in singles against Army, while the Black Knights who are back have tallied a 0-9-3 record in doubles and a 2-9-5 record in singles versus Navy.
