ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's lacrosse team remained in the top 10 in all three national polls. The Midshipmen come in at #8 according to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I Coaches Poll, while landing at #6 according to the Inside Lacrosse KANE Women's Division I Media Poll. Additionally, the Mids were ranked #5 by USA Lacrosse.
The Midshipmen have been ranked in the top 10 according to the IWLCA 19 times, including the first weekly poll of the season (Feb. 9, 2026), which was the first time in the top 10 since the final poll of the 2018 season (ranked 6th on May 29, 2018).
Prior to claiming the #4 spot in Week 6 of the 2026 season, fifth (Weeks 4 and 5) was the highest in-season ranking in any poll for Navy. The Mids spent Weeks 6 and 7 at #4 in all three polls.
Entering the 2026 season, the Midshipmen's highest IWLCA ranking – sixth – came in the final polls of the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Navy finished the 2017 season in fourth in the final ILWomen poll after the Midshipmen's Final Four run.
The Midshipmen began the season 16th in the preseason polls according to the IWLCA and the Inside Lacrosse, while opening the year at #14 in the USA Lacrosse preseason poll.
In its history, Navy has been ranked 120 total weeks, including a stretch of 46 weeks from the final poll of 2017 (May 30) to April 5, 2021. The Mids' first appearance in the national rankings came on March 11, 2013, coming in at #20.
Up next, Navy returns action this week as the Midshipmen host the 2026 Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium with the semifinal games on Thursday, April 30 and the championship game on Saturday, May 2.
The first semifinal game will be between top-seed Navy and fourth-seed Bucknell at 3:00 p.m. with the second semifinal game between second-seeded Army and third-seeded Loyola following at 7:00 p.m. Both games will be aired on ESPN+.
The winners of the two semifinal games will meet one another in the championship game at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The championship game will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.
