Navy Athletics Announces $5 Million Renovation of Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Navy Athletics today announced a comprehensive $5 million renovation of Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium, made possible by leadership gifts from two Navy Baseball alumni. The project will modernize the entire baseball complex and elevate the daily experience for Midshipmen student-athletes, coaches and fans.

The renovation, scheduled for completion in 2027, will provide a fully upgraded facility featuring a new team locker room, expanded athletic training room, wardroom, nutrition center, coaches' offices, two fan suites and a modern press box. "This project is about investing in our people and our future," said Director of Athletics Michael Kelly. "Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium has long been a special place for Navy Baseball. This renovation ensures it remains a first-class home for our Midshipmen and a destination venue for our supporters. It strengthens our ability to recruit, develop and support elite student-athletes while honoring the tradition of excellence that defines Navy Athletics."

Head coach Chuck Ristano emphasized the impact on the program's trajectory. "Our new facility will be a game-changer for Navy Baseball. Every day our players and staff will walk into a facility that matches their dedication and work ethic. This space was intentionally designed to be centered toward player and team development. The new locker room, training and nutrition spaces and team areas will directly impact how we prepare, recover, form bonds, and compete. This also sends a clear message to recruits that Navy is deeply committed to providing an elite baseball experience for our student-athletes. We are especially grateful to the leadership donors who have already stepped up to make this project possible."

In 2025, Terwilliger Brothers Field received a completely new turf playing surface, laying the groundwork for the broader complex upgrades. Construction on the facility renovation is expected to begin following the 2026 season, with completion targeted for 2027.
