ANNAPOLIS, Md. --
Cam Cole will serve as the captain of the Navy men's basketball team during the 2026-27 season, head coach
Jon Perry announced today.
"
Cam Cole has earned the respect of our program through the way he consistently puts the team ahead of himself and lives the values of the Naval Academy every day," said Perry. "His accomplishments on the court speak for themselves, but what makes him the right person to lead our team is the example he sets off the court. Cam can be trusted to do the right thing, uphold our standards and lead with humility. He has a unique ability to connect with people, build authentic relationships and create an environment where every teammate feels valued and supported. His commitment to service and genuine care for his teammates make him a natural leader. Cam is motivated by something bigger than himself, and his dedication to serving others, our team and ultimately our country embodies what it means to be a Navy basketball captain."
Cole appeared in all 34 games for the Mids this season and averaged 6.1 points and 1.6 assists per game. Those numbers improved to 6.7 points and 2.2 assists per game during the Patriot League season when he played an average of 23.8 minutes a game.
The rising senior has posted a 3.57 cumulative grade-point average at Navy and has received academic honors from the USNA in four of his six completed semesters. A cyber operations major, he was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team this season.
