ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy women's basketball program under the direction of seventh-year head coach
Tim Taylor is pleased to introduce a talented group of three freshmen, who will be joining the team for this upcoming 2026-27 season. The Class of 2030 consists of three recruited student-athletes from throughout the country. Today we conclude our series with Isabela Grant from Owings Mills, Maryland.
The final member of Navy's Class of 2030, Grant makes the short trip to campus from Owings Mills, Maryland. Prior to moving to the "Old Line State," Grant was a standout on the hardwood in New York City at South Shore High School and later in Northern New Jersey at the Blair Academy. A two-year letterwinner at South Shore, Grant helped her squad win consecutive PSAL Girls AA Championships before advancing onto an award-winning run at the Blair Academy.
Suiting up for Gregory Rosnick at Blair, Grant's dominant play as a power forward/center resulted in three consecutive nods to the All- Mid-Atlantic Prep League (MAPL) Team. On the strength of her individual success, the Buccaneers continued their run of MAPL Championships as they won the conference in 2024, 2025 and 2026, the program's 13th, 14th and 15th consecutive titles.
In club action, Grant was an established player for the Gauchos program that competed on the Adidas 3SSB circuit. She was coached on the Gauchos by Earl Elliote.
Successful not just on the American hardwood, Grant suited up with the Panamanian U-19 National Team during the summer of 2025 and saw action at the FIBA Central American Women's Championship in Nicaragua.
The daughter of Jorge and Angelica, she was active with Blair's Rules and Discipline Committee, as well as the Healthy Relationships Committee.
"We are excited to welcome Isabela to our program," remarked Taylor. "A highly recruited prospect with more than 30 scholarship offers, she competed at the nationally recognized Blair Academy and has consistently played against elite competition. Isa brings a strong, physical presence to the court and has the ability to dominate in the paint with her finishing ability around the rim and relentless work on the glass. She can also stretch the floor with her three-point shooting and gives us the versatility to run offense through her because of her outstanding passing skills. We are excited to continue developing and expanding her game, as we believe her best basketball is still ahead of her. Her international experience, combined with competing for the Gauchos on the Adidas Travel Circuit, has prepared her to make an immediate impact in our program."
