ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's triathlon team opens its 2026-27 season against a competitive field at the Duquesne Collegiate Cup this Sunday at 7:30 a.m. in Beaver Falls, Pa.
The race features a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike ride and 5-kilometer run. Fans can find more information and live results on navysports.com.
Navy is one of six participating teams, joining defending national champion Arizona, Delaware State, Duquesne, La Salle and Northern Kentucky.
History at the Duquesne Collegiate Cup
Navy is competing in the Duquesne Collegiate Cup for the fourth-consecutive season. Last year, the Mids captured the first collegiate cup victory in program history at this event.
The team will be familiar with the course, as it returns all five of its top finishers from last year's victory.
Natalie Wang led the group with a second-place finish (1:03:23), followed by
Madelyn Berry in fourth (1:04:09).
Dylan Cashin added a strong ninth-place performance (1:04:59), while
Allison Miller (1:05:23) and
Keira Wilkinson (1:05:58) crossed the line 10th and 12th, respectively.
Season Preview
Navy brings back a veteran core, returning all eight athletes from last year's squad, including two-time team captain
MC Kistler. The Mids also welcome three freshmen to the roster:
Allison Heine (Fort Wayne, Ind.),
Julia Lisa (Hollywood, Md.) and
Caitlin Williams (Little Silver, N.J.).
The Mids will return to Beaver Falls on Sept. 19 for the Beaver County Collegiate Cup. The three-meet road stint concludes on Sept. 20 at the Robious Landing Collegiate Cup in Midlothian, Va.
Navy wraps up its regular season on Oct. 4 when it hosts the Navy Collegiate Cup, marking the program's inaugural home competition.
Postseason action begins on Oct. 17 at the NCAA East Regional Qualifier in Lake Lanier, Ga., followed by the NCAA Championship on Nov. 8 in Tempe, Ariz.
Season Recap
Navy placed eighth out of 20 teams at the NCAA East Regional Qualifier in Troutman, N.C., last season, with three athletes finishing in the top 50. Wang led the team with a 29th-place finish (1:06:26), while Cashin followed in 36th (1:07:29) and Miller placed 40th (1:08:16). Berry (54th, 1:10:41), Wilkinson (59th, 1:12:46), Kistler (75th, 1:16:30),
Leah Norton (76th, 1:17:11) and
Ella Sims (90th, 1:22:10) rounded out the lineup.
Navy went on to close the season at the NCAA Collegiate Triathlon National Championship in Tempe, Ariz., finishing 13th out of 36 teams. Cashin paced the squad on the national stage with a 49th-place finish (1:08:01), while Berry capped her rookie campaign in 62nd (1:10:05).
