Trio of Mids Earn Patriot League Weekly Honors

Adlam, Jones and Stramrood collect awards; Adlam also NAAA Athlete of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off a perfect 3-0 week of action, the Navy women's soccer team was rewarded with a trio of weekly awards from the Patriot League. Kayana Adlam (Jr., Orlando, Fla.) was honored as the Patriot League Midfielder of the Week, while Natasha Stramrood (Jr., Cypress, Texas) was the conference's Goalkeeper of the Week with Stella Jones (Fr., Jacksonville, Fla.) completing the award haul with the Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor.

Additionally, Adlam was selected as the NAAA Athlete of the Week presented by USAA.

Adlam was recognized with those two honors after playing a pivotal role in Navy's 2-0 victory over the University of Maryland on Thursday night. Taking on a Terrapin squad that was undefeated in early 2026 action, the junior midfielder assisted on Stella Jones' game-winning goal and later added an insurance marker on a powerfully struck and well-placed free kick into the upper-90 in the 18th minute. The victory for the Mids was just the third in 19 meetings between the two in-state rivals. On Sunday versus Marist, Adlam helped Navy finish its weekend sweep with 55 minutes of action in the Mids' 3-1 win. For the week, the Orlando native played 110 minutes and tallied a goal, assist and two shots on goal.

NAAA Athlete of the Week: Kayana Adlam

Holding down the goal crease for both of the Mids' wins this past weekend, Stramrood helped Navy defeat Maryland by a score of 2-0 and Marist by a 3-1 decision. On Thursday, the junior made six saves, including four in the second half to lock down the Terps as part of a 2-0 shutout. On Sunday against the Red Foxes, she stopped four shots on goal and allowed just one score as the Mids overtook the Red Foxes with three unanswered tallies. For the week, Stramrood posted a 0.50 goals against average, a .909 save percentage and a 2-0 record over 180 minutes of action. For the season, she's had a hand in two of Navy's three clean sheets through seven contests.

Joining the starting lineup prior to last Sunday's matchup at Delaware, Jones has taken to the new role and thrived as in just her second game with the Starting XI she netted the game-winning goal in Navy's victory over Maryland on Thursday. On the receiving end of a cross-field pass from Adlam, the freshman juked a Maryland defender to buy some space and calmly launched a left-footed shot from 20-plus yards out that grazed the far left post in the upper-90 to put Navy up 1-0 in the seventh minute. Additionally, that victory versus the Terps was magnified as it was the 400th in the storied history of the Navy Women's Soccer program. For the week, Jones played 115 minutes in the midfield and scored one goal on two total shots.

Navy will continue non-conference action this upcoming week with a pair of road contests in Virginia. First up is a Thursday 7 p.m. tilt at Radford with a Sunday 1 p.m. matinee at VMI to close the weekend.
