NORMAN, Okla.  // Navy's Jack Tarzy (Sr / Medford, N.J.) was among the 649 NCAA Div. I student-athletes representing 210 schools who garnered 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors it was announced on Monday afternoon. Tarzy is the eighth different Navy golfer to receive the honor and the third under head coach Jimmy Stobs who is entering his fifth season at Navy.

A standout in the classroom, Tarzy completed his studies in May and graduated with a degree in quantitative economics. He posted a 3.24 grade-point average and was recognized in five of the eight semesters on the Commandant's List, while earning Dean's List mention twice and Superintendent's List once.

Tarzy, a 2026 PING All-Northeast Region selection, saved his best golf for his senior campaign. He has placed among the top 10 in five tournaments, including winning a remarkable four competitions between the fall and spring seasons. He finished the season with a 72.57 stroke average, the third-lowest stroke average for a single season in school history.

After opening the season the prestigious Folds of Honor Collegiate, Tarzy went on to win three-consecutive tournaments - The Goat (66-71-68=205 / -8), the Commander-In-Chief's Cup (77-72-74=223 / +13) and the Nassau Intercollegiate (73-73-66=212 / +2). Meanwhile, in between the Commander-In-Chief's Cup and the Nassau Intercollegiate, Tarzy captained the Mids' win over Army in the annual Star Match played in Annapolis. He earned his first singles win in four appearances in the battle between the two rivals, while the win marked the school's 1,200th victory against Army in the all-time overall series.

Tarzy returned in the spring to win his fourth tournament of the season with a 5-under par 208 (68-68-72) at the Golden Horseshoe Open. His four wins in 2025-26 marked the most wins by a Navy player in a single season since Billy Hurley won six tournaments in 2003-04. Meanwhile, his four-career wins are tied as the third most in school history alongside Brian Crum (2000-03). 

Tarzy, who garnered 2026 first-team All-Patriot League recognition and was named to the 2026 Patriot League Men's Golf All-Academic Team, finished his career with a 73.62 stroke average, the third-lowest career average in Navy history.

Six of the eight Patriot League institutions sponsoring varsity men's golf programs were represented on the 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar Team (Colgate 4, Bucknell 3, Loyola 3, Holy Cross 2, Lehigh 2, Navy 1).

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
