Tang and Cressman to Represent Women’s Golf at Jackson T. Stephens Cup

Navy Senior Emma Tang and Junior Vivian Cressman Competing as Individuals in One of College Golf’s Premier Events

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's golf team will have a pair of individuals competing this week, as senior Emma Tang and junior Vivian Cressman are set to represent the Midshipmen on Sept. 14-15 in the sixth annual Jackson T. Stephens Cup at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco in Frisco, Texas.
 
Monday's action begins with the first round teeing off at 8:15 a.m. ET, followed by the second round in the afternoon, while the final round on Tuesday is set for a 12:00 p.m. ET tee time. Now in its sixth year, the JTS will be televised live on the Golf Channel and will air Monday, September 14 (5–8 p.m. ET) and Tuesday, September 15 (4–7 p.m. ET).

About Jackson T. Stephens Cup
Playing in the sixth annual Stephens Cup, Tang and Cressman will make the trip south to play 54 holes at the Fields Ranch East course at PGA Frisco … The Stephens Cup is named in memory of the late Augusta National Chairman Jackson T. Stephens, who attended the Naval Academy where he graduated as a member of the Class of 1947 … The field at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is named Jack Stephens Field, whose gift of $10 million in 2003 aided in the renovations of Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, as well as a handful of other projects part of the United States Naval Academy Campaign; Leaders to Serve the Nation … The tournament features NCAA Division I National Championship-contending men's and women's teams alongside collegiate players representing Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and the United States Service Academies … After Monday and Tuesday's 54 holes of stroke play, the top four teams from stroke play will face off in match play on Wednesday, Sept. 16 … Defending national champion Stanford, Florida State, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas and Wake Forest will all be sending their teams, while individual competitors will be Tang, Cressman, Nevaeh Figueroa (Prairie View A&M), Micaiah Joubert (Jackson State), Lena Durette (Howard) and Alexis Goboy (Howard University).
 
Navy at the Stephens Cup
Navy has sent representatives to each of the first five Stephens Cups … Tori Smith was selected for the inaugural Stephens Cup in 2021 at the Alotian Club in Roland, Ark., as her rounds of 86-82-81 gave her a final score of 33-over par 249 that landed her 34th in stroke play … Eve Worden represented the Mids in 2022 at the Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Fla., taking 36th in a loaded field after scoring a 16-over par 232 (77-81-74) … The 2023 Stephens Cup had Stephanie Lee finishing 37th on the player leaderboard at 19-over par 235, playing at the Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas … The 2024 JTS Cup had Sue Lee close out at 20-over par 230 and tying for 26th in the field, which marked the best finish by a Midshipmen in the four-year history of the event, while Bridget Hoang ended the tournament in 34th at 42-over par 252 … 2025 had two Navy golfers for the first time, as Tang finished 33rd in the field at 26-over par 236 and Hallie Brisco placed 34th with a 43-over par 253.

A torrid start from Emma Tang highlighted Navy's performance at the season-opening Folds of Honor Collegiate, as Tang sat among the top golfers for much of the three-day tournament before finishing 20th and helping the Midshipmen take 11th place in Grand Haven, Mich. … In a field that featured eight other 2026 NCAA Regional participants and NCAA Division II championship qualifier Findlay, Navy used rounds of 314-308-310 to end the event in 11th place at 68-over par 932 … After sitting in the top-10 for most of the event, Tang tied for 20th at 3-over par 219 (71-71-77) in a field that included six 2026 WGCA All-Americans, as Tang finished tied with 2026 Honorable Mention All-American Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio of Texas A&M and ahead of 2026 Second Team All-American Marta Silchenko (T26) of Oklahoma State … Ending as Navy's second top golfer, junior Vivian Cressman climbed the leaderboard as the week progressed, as rounds of 81-77-76 jumped her into a tie for 49th with a three-round score of 18-over par 234.
