BALTIMORE, Md. – Downpouring rain throughout the first half of Tuesday night's Navy-UMBC men's soccer match rendered the playing field at Retrievers Soccer Park hazardous and unplayable to the extent that the referees declared the competition "no contest" during the halftime intermission.
During the 45 minutes of play between the Midshipmen and Retrievers, both teams generated several chances before UMBC took a 1-0 lead on Abdi Bahur's 43rd-minute goal. The Mids'
Sam Clark made three saves while the Retrievers' Joseph Pollard collected two saves in the first half.
The match will not be made up per NCAA rules.
