STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Junior Cameron Lindsay (Kernersville, N.C.) posted a career-best time in the 500-meter run and assisted on an IC4A qualifying 4x400-meter relay as the Navy men's track and field team produced many solid performances over Friday and Saturday at the Penn State National Open.

Lindsay, who had previously qualified for the IC4A Championship in the 500-meter run, posted career-best mark with a time of 1:04.54 to place second among a field of 26 runners. Lindsay's effort smashed his previous record, 1:05.07, he set last year at the Penn State National Open. Senior Jamar Green (Pineville, La.), sophomore William Ricks (Sussex, Va.), Lindsay and sophomore Paul Harris (Woodbury, Minn.) combined to record a 3:15.37 time in the 4x400-meter relay to qualify for the IC4A Championship in March.

Navy's 4x800-meter relay of sophomore Lucas Burke (Bakersfield, Calif.), sophomore Jefferson Sarchione (Alliance, Ohio), sophomore Craig Meekins (Baldwin, N.Y.) and senior Joshua Sink (Welcome, N.C.) teamed up to lead all teams with a season-best 7:41.70 showing. The 4x800-meter relay produced a time that was 8.88 seconds faster than its previous season-best mark on Jan. 14.

Burke also ran in the 600-meter run, crossing the finish line in 1:22.42 to place second among eight runners on Saturday.

Sophomore Ben Kozy (Houston, Texas) continued his stellar indoor season with a career-best, third-place effort in the 1,000-meter run. Kozy covered the distance in 2:25.13, 4.74 seconds faster than his previous career-mark set on Jan. 14. Kozy, junior Michael Levinson (Willingboro, N.J.), Harris and Sink combined for a 10:00.78 time in the distance medley relay to place sixth. The relay unit shaved 14.94 seconds off its prior season-best time of 10:15.72 last weekend.

Two Midshipmen landed among the top-six in the pole vault on Saturday afternoon. Junior Stephen White (Marietta, Ga.) cleared 6'9" (2.06 meters) to finish in fourth-place, while fellow junior Cole Herron (Sanger, Calif.) surpassed 6'7" (2.01 meters) in placing sixth in the pole vault.

Sophomore Dante Marshall (Hermitage, Pa.) soared 47'2-1/4" (14.39 meters) in the triple jump to finish fourth overall. Sophomore Darryl Hunter (Des Moines, Iowa) released a throw of 51'6-1/4" (15.70 meters) to place ninth among 30 competitors in the shot put. For the fifth time in as many meets this season, Hunter uncorked a throw that surpassed the IC4A qualifying standard in the shot put.

Senior Marcus Scarborough (Columbia, S.C.) also qualified for the IC4A Championship with his 8.35-second performance in the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles. Scarborough recorded an 8.37-second time in the finals to finish in 12th-place.

Green joined the Navy contingent that qualified for the IC4A Championship on Saturday with his efforts in the 400-meter run. Green crossed the finish line in 49.46 seconds to place 17th among 37 runners.

The Midshipmen return home to host Army on Saturday, Feb. 4, in Halsey Field House for the annual Star Meet. The meet is slated to begin at 12 p.m.
