LONG BEACH, Calif. - While most of the Brigade was returning to Annapolis this weekend to begin the spring semester, four members of the Navy intercollegiate sailing team remained in Southern California to compete in the 30th annual Rose Bowl Regatta in Long Beach.

This event always draws a great field and this year's edition featured 30 teams from all around the country.

Despite forecasts for light wind, the fleet experienced solid sailing on both days and eight races were completed per division under sunny skies and relatively cool temperatures.

Navy finished sixth overall in the event with sophomore Michael Madigan and freshman Michelle Katz coming in sixth in A division while freshmen Jimmy Madigan and Will Hawley were seventh in B.
